The Fairways of Halfmoon

We came here for the first time today and were very disappointed. We were paired up with two older men who apparently don’t like women golfers. They were frustrated and increasingly impatient with me for not hitting in the way that they approved of. The second nine, we were met with a course Marshall who told one of the men that we were too slow. He quickly passed that on to me, not my husband. I felt uncomfortable and pressured the whole second half. The saving Gracie was the amazing woman Trish who came around with drinks. Way to make women feel inferior!

Review focuses solely on golf course.

In immaculate shape. Played October 25th and it was honestly one of the nicest courses I've played this time as of late in this region of NYS.

Greens are so fast, fairways still being manicured/striped. Lost 0 balls to leaves. Really nice job superintendent/groundskeeper and team.

Great conditions....lousy customer service by cart boy Bill Hickey. Cart stopped working near green 1....would only go in reverse. I was near the cart signs NOT BEYOND THEM. Had to reverse all the way to the green. Still wouldn't go fwd there. Called pro shop.... And they sent out Billy boy. I tried to explain the situation to him.... But he wouldn't let me speak. Kept interrupting telling me what the problem was even though he wasn't there. I work at a golf course that has the same setup... So I know the deal that if you go in restricted areas you have to reverse out. Once I got to the green... I noticed that the cart system was rebooting. I tried to explain this to Bill... But he told me to stop interrupting him so he could tell me what to do. At that point I told him I would take the cart that he brought out and he could take this one back because I didn't want to deal with this again. He said no, you're not and took off with the cart. A real Prince of a guy. Other than that, loved the course..... But no customer should have to put up with a idiot like that.

Great course, great rates. Definitely do not walk it like I did, unless you’re up (and down) for an enormous amount of elevation. Great workout, but brutal.

Only 4 stars because they were during a bunch of course maintenance with dump trucks and stuff while we were playing. Had to wait a couple of times why loaded/unloaded. Just wish there was a notice online or during check in so I could have planned accordingly.

Will go back!

Coarse is in great shape

1st time at Fairways of Halfmoon. Was in very good condition. Fairly tough, very hilly course with a handful of blind, uphill tee shots and several dog legs. Definitely need a cart. Maybe if you play it several times you would get used to it and know better where to hit. Still a challenging course and longer from the whites than I am used to.

Went there for our Car Club dinner , the food and service was awesome

We play a scramble tourney here every year and it never disappoints. This is a beautiful, challenging course. I am by no means a good golfer, but I enjoy playing this course, though I tend to lose at least 5 balls everytime I play. The course itself is wonderfully maintained, the layout is easy to navigate, and the hole descriptions are accurate so you can plan(try, if you golf like me) your shot. The clubhouse is gorgeous and well stocked, kitchen makes fantastic food, it's not overpriced. The staff are attentive and the grounds crew is always around checking the course.

Nice course, we'll maintained. I arrived 10 minutes later than my 2 buddies (still prior to t time) and was charged $4 more??? Guess she wanted a coffee on me. What ever.

Wouldn’t let us play 18, course was so chewed up, divots everywhere. Greens were also chewed up and didn’t look like it has been maintained all season. Horrible playing conditions. If you want a good round, you won’t find it here

The pace of play is absolutely heinous everytime we play here. Will not be back because of this. Waiting between each and every shot for several minutes, sometimes even 10-15 min. When we made the turn to play the back 9, we waited 25 minutes at the tee box behind 4 groups before deciding to just leave. The round would've been upwards of 6-7 hours if we didn't leave. Let me note that this is on a Monday as well. And no one is of any help in regards to pace of play. Otherwise the course is nice. ONLY book to play here if you don't mind possibly playing a 6+ hour round.

One of the nicest courses in the capital district. Challenging. Greens are fast

This course is always in great shape and has some very fun holes! Greens are typically very fast but true.
