I met someone nearby for an errand and decided to try this restaurant. I gave my order when the server usually asks for your drink order. My food came after some time, and I only saw the server again when she put my bill on the table. I ordered two eggs over easy, rye toast, and asked for fried onions in my home fries. The eggs were over medium and browned, I got marbled rye/pumpernickel, and I had an excess of fried onions covering the charred home fries. I was never approached to ask how my food was nor offered a refill of my only cup of coffee. I brought my check to the register at the end of the establishment, inside their store. When asked how my meal was, I told the cashier. She immediately told me to hold on while she got the manager. She gave me an employee discount. I explained I wasn't looking for a discount. This store has a sister store in Malta that I enjoy going to.

Very busy almost all the time, and appropriately so. Always good service, interesting and diverse menu, and the best homemade corned beef hash in the area.. The interior local, is a great improvement over the former Malta diner. Gives you the idea that it's warm and inviting.

They have the best breakfast in town! The service is always amazing. I have been to both locations and they have never let me down. My daughter absolutely loves the blueberry pancakes and we always have more than enough to take home!

Everything was fresh, flavorful and delicious from the fried green tomatoes, to the rye bread, from home the home fries (crispy, delicious top and soft spuds) to all the veggies in the omelette. The Yummy Cake was to die for. The service was efficient and professional but the best part was it felt like the waitresses were taking care of you in their own home - they were friendly, attentive, and warm. If you've never been and you're not sure if this is the right choice, it is. The Ugly Rooster is definitely the place you want to go. We will be returning!

This site demonstrates that they provide excellent food at the right price, AND, they care that you have an excellent dining experience. Food is over priced and no breakfast deals, you literally have to order everything individually to make yourself a breakfast combination of eggs, toast and bacon and each cost about 5.00 an item.. Wont be back..
