Online menu prices were not honored and I was charged a higher price than the online menu indicated. I did not notice until after I had paid. Little disappointed today… been going there for a few years food is always good and deals are good. I got my fav crispy chicken tacos. Price went up a dollar a taco….soft shells were not soft or fresh at all and the amount they put on the taco was cut to like half.. even the sauce.

I'm from Texas and I can honestly tell you one thing: the cornerstone of true tex-mex cuisine is enchiladas and chile con queso. They don't serve chile con queso. Therefore, it is an INSULT to call this place tex-mex.

Once Upon a time, on LI land, there was this warm and cute and amazing little restaurant that gave you a break financially, serving big portions of delicious food, which made it so wonderful to feed a family with. Corporate greed got to this little restaurant, and now you receive the smallest meal ever! Last night, my hubby got into his car, happy as a lark, heading to one of our favorite restaurants to purchase a few meals. When he got home, I thought he was joking when he said, "The cut WAY back on their portions". The small chicken soup was 6.00! SMALL! The rice and beans are served in these little tiny plastic containers (I measured and it was LESS than half a cup of rice!), that are a joke, as well as the beans. No more aluminum tins filled with good stuff! Although the chicken is a sensible size and was DRY as ever, the fries have been way cut back on, (like we wouldn't notice?) The cut backs are so disappointing! How sad! You ruined your reputation Cactus Cafe Tex- Mex in Medford, NY. OH, not to mention how disappointing they raised their prices 3.00! Almost 15.00 for half the amount of sides you used to get! You lost loyal customers. My family of 20 that I used to suggest to visit your place for an amazing deal, are no longer going there. EVER. Shame on you, and don't tell US prices went up that much for food. What went up is probably your rent, which is not our fault. One dollar maybe, but 3.00 AND you cut back portions? Too bad, we always looked forward to going to get a meal, but now we will find a better priced establishment, with better deals and MORE food. Shame on you! I got the shrimp burrito and chicken corn chowder. The burrito, while delicious, came luke warm, which is why it lost a food star for me. Eat it with the green sauce for extra flavor. I put the burrito in the air fryer at 330 for 15 mins and it tasted so yummy and warm. The "chowder" was yummy but it should just be called a soup. It didn't have a creamy texture to me.

This place was a great spot for years, but over time its gotten too crowded, they raised their prices which is understandable if theres high demand plus inflation, but the foods not even worth it lol. Itll run through you the next day and it never used to so im assuming they cut corners and have cheaper quality chicken and cheese. Oh and price increases werent small if you look at it %% wise. Chicken taco was $2 now its $3 which is a 33% increase and mind you, MOST OF THE CHICKEN IS FRIGGIN BREADING THERES BARELY ANY CHICKEN. House salad for a couple leaves was $5 now its $6, 20% which is kinda fair i get that. You gotta go when they have deals if you want your moneys worth and order ahead because you'll wait forever if you order there during peak hours. The online menu prices isnt up to date.

Best ive tried yet, got the bbq rib burrito and a crispy chicken taco, food still really great, but service is a chaotic mess, waited 30 minutes for a burrito when a whole table 5 people got all their food before me, yeah my burrito was sitting on the counter for 15 minutes another cold one, not the first time this happened, again paid near 30 dollars for my dinner with tip to have it sit on the counter for 25 minutes no one ever called my name, you don't even offer to make it fresh?? I come here 3 times a week minimum, tip 20% minimum....to get treated like this is horrible. If I ever come back, never tipping again
