Tonight I decided to treat myself to empanadas filled with apples covered in caramel sauce and ice cream on top. When the package arrived, my mouth was watering and tastebuds dancing with anticipation for the sweet treat. Upon biting into it, I found that the empanadas, while covered in caramel sauce, was filled with some type of beef. Needless to say, my vegetarian friend was not too happy and neither were my disappointed taste buds. I will not be eating empanadas for some time now.

Being born and raised in Puerto Rico...growing up with an old school cook mom with authentic PRican flavors....I absolutely approve Island Empanadas. The flavor of the dough of the empanadas is the best....just like being at home. I was satisfied, happy, and impressed.

I ordered the pork plate and was delighted with every part of it. They do not skimp on flavor or portions! The rice and beans would have been perfect by themselves but paired so well with that juicy pork. Also, you can't go wrong with maduros! I was offered to get a part of the crsipy skin too, which was soo nice as it's one of my favorite parts! I finished this fantastic plate with a heavenly guava and cheese empanada. If I'm ever back in the area, I will be visiting again.

First time and the last time I will come here. The service is horrible when I went to go order at the counter the kid just stared at me and didn't say a word. Even after I said how are you. The best part is after I paid with my card I signed the receipt and the kid points and shows his other co worker that I didn't tip right in front of me. I'm sorry but I'm not tipping for picking up my food especially when you didn't even greet me. Wont ever be returning I'm actually baffled. Food was okay.
