Loved the atmosphere in here! They had great music playing, making it a fun environment. The food and drinks were good and we got them both pretty fast! However, the waitress was not as attentive and took forever to come back with certain things, including the check. She also said she would send someone over to collect our empty plates, but when we left the restaurant our plates were still on the table. This usually wouldn’t be an issue but we were ordering dessert for the table and it was hard to share with so many dirty plates in the way. Overall great experience though, I will be returning!

The food was great. The restaurant was rather dark. I have transition glasses and had to take them off to see where I was going. I was there for lunch and it was nice to walk outside in the sun and see things again. It's way too dark inside

I wish I could give a zero star. Please do not go to this place. Went with a few coworkers after work and the staff there is just terrible. It was absolutely disgusting how the bartender was talking to women. Very rude. The waiter/ cleaning table Mel (or Melanie) Not sure What was her problem but her attitude was terrible. Do they know what customer service is? Never returning with people this working there. DO BETTER.
I had a wonderful time and appreciated the impeccable customer service from the bar keep last night. I will definitely come back.

There were five of us at the table. Everyone enjoyed their food except for one of my friends who got The Shrimp po boy. She hadn't realized it was going to be fried and the shrimp could have been cooked better.
One of us ordered the Is harvest salad bowl with grilled chicken. She said it was amazing. She didn't know how this chicken was seasoned , but it was delicious. I ordered the barbecued beef brisket bowl Which was delicious. The meat was tender and the cucumber salad was really nice and crispy. It shouldn't be put on the same plate with the mashed potatoes that got a little soggy from the dressing. The mashed potatoes were just okay, and the cornbread muffin disappointed me because it had jalapenos in it.
The waiter was great. As soon as he heard one of the guests at the table was vegan he brought the vegan menu right out to her.
Atmosphere was great. We really liked the decorations.
The food was a little pricey, but isn't everything these days?

Horrible experience. Ordered a macaroni and cheese with bread crumbs for 10 people and was served bowtie pasta with barely any cheese and no bread crumbs. I called the restaurant to get the problem fixed and the manager gave me cold responses and did not help me at all. He did not apologize and did not try to solve the issue at hand. Unreal experience and will make sure I never order anything from this establishment again. Save your time and money and eat from somewhere else.

One Star – Avoid at All Costs
I ordered a large tray of macaroni and cheese from The Refuge in Melville, Long Island, for a family gathering, and it was hands-down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had.
They charged an absurd $125 for what was supposed to be their “famous” cheesy macaroni with a golden breadcrumb topping. The menu and their own photos show classic elbow macaroni baked with a creamy cheese sauce and a crisp, buttery breadcrumb crust. What we actually received was a tray of bland bow-tie (farfalle) pasta swimming in a thin, barely-there “cheese” sauce that tasted like watered-down Velveeta. There was zero breadcrumb topping not a single crumb. It looked and tasted nothing like what was advertised.
When we opened it at the gathering, literally no one touched it after the first bite. Even the kids who normally devour mac and cheese pushed it away. It was greasy, under-seasoned, and somehow both dry and watery at the same time. We ended up throwing almost the entire tray in the trash.
To top it all off, when I called to complain and ask for a refund (since the dish was completely different from what we ordered and paid for), the manager was rude, dismissive, and flat-out refused. Their exact words were “that’s just how we make it now.” No apology, no offer to remake it, nothing.
$125 essentially stolen for inedible food and terrible customer service. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. The Refuge clearly doesn’t care about quality or honesty. Never again.

Ordered “Mac and Cheese with bread crumbs” as a cater item. This is what I received. They refused to give me a refund. This is not even macaroni they gave me bow tie and a sprinkle of shredded cheese. This is unacceptable and embarrassing
