The best Peruvian rotisserie chicken in New York! The green spicy sauce is excellent and the service is very good. Don’t miss the red sangria — it’s spectacular. I’m happy to know there’s a Pio Pio restaurant back in the area. Just a heads-up: bring some patience, since they don’t take reservations for fewer than 10 people. We waited 10 minutes for a table.

Went on April 7 and this location was closed. So went to a new location on metropolitan and continental ave. They said the woodhaven location would eventually reopen though, maybe in a few days.

Place is closed permanently due to a fire... Google it the strip of stores went on fire like months ago. All you going to see by the restaurant is trash garbage build up. Just walked past there tonite n this is what I saw.

Love(d) this place, but they're closed now. Trash cans in front of the door and a sign saying temporarily closed. Can't find any other information.

Always check your bill! I gave the waiter cash in his hand as his tip . And in the pad he gave me I put 0 tip obviously cause I gave him cash as well as text message receipt . Never got the receipt in text and when I saw my credit card the waiter put his tips in . When I confronted him. He tried to gaslight me like if I didn’t read what I clicked on . Couldn’t even give me a refund receipt . Just said it would be back in your account in five days . Not even a sorry just give her money back . Just a PSA since they didn’t even look shocked when I told them .

The food was okay, but I felt that the price is a little high. $27 chicken is a little expensive

Horrible service, waiter was on his phone all the time. We had to call him to order. Never came back to check on us. Cashier and all the workers were in their own world. The atmosphere was not grateful at all. The food was alright . I guess they had changed the recipe. The chicken didn’t taste as good as before. Worst $100 that i spent ( matador combo $74 + 4 Inca kola) 1/10 overall. If u have a chance go somewhere else?

The reason I didn't give piopio at woodhaven Blvd a zero is because there is no option to do that. I spent $70 dollars including tip on a whole chicken, yellow rice, red beans and salchi-papa. The chicken was just okay, beans flavorless, rice was looking like it was stained white rice with food coloring and the salchi-papa looked absolutely not eatable. This is just unacceptable and disgusting ?
I grew up eating on my own. In my family we had as a tradition eating the famous piopio chicken. I don't know what happened??? This is absolutely not fare for the customer.
He couldn't give a zero to pio pio on woodhaven blvd because there is no option for that. Spend $70 including tip on a whole chicken, yellow rice, red beans, and potato salchi. The chicken was below average, the rice looked like white rice with color, the beans without any flavor and the salchi potatoes looked inedible. The disappointment was very embarrassing and unacceptable.
I grew up eating meat in this restaurant and my family had a tradition of eating the famous piopio chicken. But i do not know what happened ?? This is not fair to customers.

Let me start by saying I’ve been eating at Pio Pio for over 20 years, the best location was the one on the east side in the 90’s on 1st Ave in Manhattan. I used to leave with my belly full of delicious food at a reasonable price throughout the years. But I’m saddened to say this is not the case anymore. We came and ordered a matador combo (whole rotisserie chicken, avocado salad, hot dogs with French fries) We ordered 2 glasses of sangria and 2 sodas. The bill with tip came to $160! Like seriously? I was figuring the bill would be half of that total. It’s rotisserie chicken for god sakes, the quality of the food has gone downhill and the prices are sky high for what you are getting. I’m sorry to say, this will be my last hurrah at Pio Pio.

Really good every time I pick up a whole chicken with the rice and beans. It’s soo juicy and tasty

Edit: they raised the prices which i am totally ok with. but for 30 dollars they gave me a very dry chicken. I would not serve that to someone I am glad I paid for extra sauce because that was the only way i was able to eat it. It will be a long time until I come back, not trying risk getting a very dry chicken for $30 dollars.
