I've lived here 20 years and tonight was my first time here. The Millerton Inn is beautiful and decorated nicely. I must say I was surprised that the portions were small. Orange Chicken was delicious but the amount of chicken was a small breast with an attached wing. I was told in the past it was much larger. The short rib was excellent served on rice with no vegetables. At $32 dinner should come with something. Dessert chocolate souffle was amazing served warm with ice cream. Nice but pricey.

The bed was comfortable. The meal in dining room was very good. Other than that, there is so much that was very sub-par especially considering the price. Shower was cold and when it finally got a little warm the pressure was at a mere trickle. There was very little staff the entire stay. We had to get our own keys and let ourselves into the room upon arrival. Cleaning supplies and dirty linens were left in the hallways throughout our stay. Previous guest leftovers were in the fridge. The breakfast was all either wrapped in plastic or covered in sugar or both. I’ve had better breakfast on an airline.

We went to the bar for happy hour while we were on a camping trip nearby. The food and drinks were delicious, and the bar staff were outstanding! Highly recommended!

Inn is in desperate need of a major renovation! Very dated decor. Broken trundle bed in my room, no nightstand, no closet but a crooked, flimsy clothes rack. Filthy and stained carpet on the stairs.Breakfast not fit for human consumption. Bread, waffles, muffins…all individually wrapped in plastic. Plastic packets of butter, syrup…budget hotel style.Very friendly staff!
We had a delicious dinner to celebrate a family occasion.Nearby activities: Shopping, movies, tea house, rail trailFood & drinks: Great selection. outstanding service, delicious foodNoteworthy details: Plenty of parking, roomy and historic interior, worth the trip!

We stayed here for one night. The building is beautiful and well-maintained, as are the grounds. The location is excellent--right in town, across from the movie theater, and close to restaurants and the rail trail. But, an inn is supposed to have an innkeeper-- someone who welcomes you, answers any questions, is available if there is a problem. Instead, this place is run more like a virtual AirBNB. There was someone who checked us in, but this was purely perfunctory--she asked us to sign the registration and she gave us the key to our room. When we returned from dinner, the Inn was locked and we could not figure out how to get in. The telephone number on the Inn website went to voicemail. After some futile efforts, we climbed up the fire escape stairway in the back of the building to the second floor and opened a window overlooking the fire escape landing, climbing in through the window. In the morning, the Inn continued to be devoid of personnel. A breakfast that consisted of plastic wrapped sweet things (cookies, muffins, cake) was provided, along with Keurig coffee. Not what one expects when one is paying $267 a night in a small town in upstate New York.

We love our experience and plan to be back. We came here with another couple friends of ours after visiting the tea store couple doors down. We came for lunch we all had burgers it was delicious and cooked perfect. We shared a Tiramisu for dessert which was also great. Nice decor as well.

Fantastic food, courteous, expert service, lovely old inn. Manhattan top restaurant quality in this artsy upstate village.
