For years we wanted to try this place and were so disappointed when we had a family birthday dinner there. One of our guests received a meal she didn't order, and then the correct order didn't come out until everyone else was done. No apologies were given, and the check came with a full charge for the meal. We were able to have it taken off, but then were literally ignored even as we left. The food was okay but the service was not. We have no desire to return.

I’ve been here many times in the past and I’m extremely disappointed on my last meal. Got the worst table in the restaurant after being told to avoid the earlier times and getting a “crappy table”. The food was terribly prepared (see picture). Also, the service was awful. I’m not sure I will return after many years of being a consistent customer.

We chose to try Ship Lantern Inn after receiving a recommendation from a friend, and I was pleasantly surprised! The food was absolutely delicious. My friend ordered the filet mignon, while I had the braised short rib—both dishes were fantastic. The wait staff was attentive but not intrusive, and they were eager to answer our questions and offer suggestions. I can't wait to return!

One of those places that's been around forever, so you worry that they are just coasting along on their past glory...not so. Classic old school fine dining experience, everything was perfect, service was impeccable. No servers asking if you'd been here before and explaining the "concept", just good food, good drinks and excellent service.

Ship Lantern Inn is an incredibly lovely dining experience! My wife and I went here for our birthdays and had a wonderful time. The staff are all kind and personable. I was so happy it was not a stuffy atmosphere, nor were there any uptight people at all! A great inviting and relaxing atmosphere awaits anyone who enters. I must also mention how delicious and well prepared the food is!!
Absolutely amazing!! I went here for a birthday dinner with my husband (he is October 15th and I am the 17th, we had an absolutely amazing time! The food was prepared so fresh and delicious and the waiters and waitresses were truly attentive to our needs from start to finish!! Thank you for making our birthday so memorable!
Kid-friendliness: There was a mother and father with their young children dining here at the same time as my husband and I. We noticed they were treated well by the waiters and waitresses! They even had a kids menu, we could hear the young girl order chicken tenders.

Lump crab meat cocktail was fresh, sweet and market price was very reasonable. Short ribs and parmesan crusted swordfish were outstanding. Service was excellent. If we come back to the area we will definitely come again. Thank you!
