Catania's Pizza - Mohegan Lake

Used to be solid, not sure what happened but it’s been going downhill for a while! Should be ashamed of the “calzone”, it’s basically an empanada, really weird, who makes a calzone with no cheese and only meat??! Used to love the pizza but it’s become avg at best, so sad. And DO NOT order online, they always get it wrong.

The meatball calzone was totally different from what I expected. Ordered a beef empanada, chicken parm empanada, and a meatball calzone. The same beef was in the empanada as the meatball. Also a calzone from where I am from Da Bronx have ricotta and mozzarella cheese in it as well. It was basically a beef empanada. No grated cheese breadcrumbs or garlic nothing like a typical meatball. I probably will only stick to empanadas because that’s what looked like they were known for.

owner made me a fresh smaller sized roma tomato pie since they didn’t have any slices left when i called, and i was happy cus i was really craving it. the pizza was actually so good. also got one of their homemade apple crumb empanadas. SO GOOD!! great atmosphere, amazing pizza, and the empanada was also so good. already excited to get food the next time i go there. i recommend catania’s, nice people, great foods, great atmosphere.

Was let down twice by this establishment. Recently just got burnt pizza, fists time around I submitted order online, got sorted that it was ready, came to store and they said they didn’t have my order. Had to wait another 20 minutes for a pie. However they did give me free pizza one night before closing.

I really enjoyed the food, this is my fourth time eating in the restaurant. It’s so delicious and clean the stuff are super friendly and kind. I tried the philly cheesesteak sandwich 10/10, empanadas 10/10, pizzas 9/10, meatballs hero 10/10. I highly recommend.

Now every New Yorker loves a good pizza and this place definitely sets the standard. Found this place as I was driving and boy am I glad I decided to stop and try it. I’m very picky and truthfully I rather make homemade pizza myself but this is the only spot that I’ll order from! The sauce to cheese ratio and the amount of toppings is great. Every time I walk in the staff is so friendly and polite. What also sets them aside is their menu offers none traditional pizza shop items and you gain points that leads to coupons and deals. Even had my pizza loving friends try and they were also blown away!
