The service is unnecessarily hostile, and I question if they're racists. It's nothing that's overtly said, but micro aggressions you sense in their execution of service. At a time when the place is nearly empty of customers, no one will acknowledge you or even attempt to service you; let a white person enter behind you, all of a sudden there's impetus to service your order and there's. The last time I went, I waited so long unacknowledged that I opted to leave. If someone entered your house would you not ask what business they have on your property or would you walk around your house like you don't see them?
You can see them making the food, which provides some solace, but when you start wondering how a restaurant that is cooking your food feels about you, it's time to eat elsewhere. I've had the pizza in the past and it was good, however if thin crust is not your style, you may not like it. I've gotten mixed reviews when I've offered some to friends and family. I personally like the pizza.

Cash-only establishments do not concern me; after all, cash is king. Johnny's Pizza is definitely worth the wait, offering exceptional pizza with fantastic sauce and a great atmosphere. As a pizza enthusiast, I discovered this gem and am thoroughly enjoying it. I highly recommend trying this pizza; don't hesitate to visit the ATM, as it is truly worth it.

Great pizza if you like a crunch. But they gotta leave that tough guy attitude alone, they’re taking it one step too far. I took a picture of the pizza guys and the girl said please don’t take pictures. lol. Then I asked her who made the soup because it was really good. And she said thinking she was cute, and she wasn’t, somebody in the kitchen.
Saw portnoys review, and was in the area so stopped to try it. I'd rate the pizza 8.9.

Drove 1.5 hours to visit only for them to be closed. Sign on door says closed August 18-September 4th. Please update your website and or hours of operation online so people don’t waste their time.

Where is the cheese, only I see Tomatoe sauce in the right side. My husband said steal $27 for this pizza without cheese in half pizza. No more pizza from this place. When they saw my husband come in, when they saw a Hispanic come in, they made him a poor pizza without cheese, but let me tell you something, appearances can be deceiving and they showed themselves to be racists when they saw a Latino come into the pizzeria. What kind of workers work in that pizza place? No more Johnny's pizza, they showed themselves to be racist towards my husband. They made a very bad pizza. My husband never go back there.

The pizza and food here is exactly like in Rome. My family and I are long time customers and the food and service is always amazing. We don’t eat pizza from anywhere else .

If you love thin and crispy this is the upper echelon. The absolute BEST

This was absolutely the worst pizza I have ever had in my life! The pizza was made in the reverse order. The cheese (which was scarce) was put on the dough first and the tomato sauce added on top. The slices were thin (which is fine) but was chewy and undercooked, and the ends were burnt! We were told 20 minutes for our order, but were called in less than 10 minutes. We believe they gave us a pizza that had not been picked up and was sitting on top of the oven. . If we lived closer we would have definitely returned this horrible pizza. This was our first time at Johnny’ s and will be our last!!!! Definitely a disgusting experience and we do not recommend this place to anyone!!!

This pizza is worth driving hours to have. So perfectly crispy and thin! The garlic pie is beyond and so unique. This spot is NOT to be missed. Totally 100% worth going out of your way!

Best Pizza by far that I have had in a very long time. If any of you have ever been to Jasper's in the Riverdale section of the Bronx and have had the Jasper Special, Johnny's Grandma Pie is very similar with the exception that Johnny uses tomato sauce and Jaspers uses thinly sliced beefsteak tomatoes in their recipe. Johnny's takes the prize!!!
Parking: They have their own lot; however, it is NY, so the lot isn't super large, but it worked well for a quick pick-up and go.

There's nothing I can add that hasn't been reviewed here already. Outstanding pizza.
My first instinct is to compare Johnny's with New Haven (CT) Neopolitan style (which uses the superior coal ovens). It's very close - even better in some ways (red sauce, and very crispy).
Also love the fact that they've been in business for so long, and still family owned.
