My first time in mount vernon NY. The Steam House was amazing. Our party of 8 were the only people in the place at the time. It felt like we had a private party. Attention to customer service was great and the food was even better. Highly

I didn't want to write this review but I have to. I reached out via Instagram to report several disappointing experiences to what seemed to be the owner/restaurant manager. However, nothing seems to be improving. My experiences in short have been: No air conditioning, flies around the bar, no Tito's or Hennessy, no ice (once the bartender walked to the store to buy a bag of ice), pieces of black particles in the ice, inconsistent taste of food that I always order, horrible customer service, no napkins, extremely long waits for food dining in/take out, and it's never packed. Yesterday, I walked in the restaurant with my son and it was humid as heck. Two men were sitting in the front of restaurant. One of them were sweating profusely. I said, "hey, are you going to turn the fan on for us?" . He said, "oh for sure, no problem". As we had the choice of every table and chair, my son chose a table that was so dirty that he took his head and wiped it off. We settled on a wood barren high table. It was clean and closer to the direction in which the fan was blowing. Anywho, we ordered the Jerk Chicken Quesadilla for an appetizer and Rasta Pasta with Chicken and Salmon. Now, I must admit....we ordered a combination that wasn't on the menu but the other man who was sitting said yes, you can get it that way. So, I gathered he was the chef. The food came out together on the little table. The jerk Chicken quesadilla was delicious. The out wrap was crispy and filled with bbq sauce, chopped up pieces of jerk chicken served with a huge side of sour cream. Which was the best compliment to this spicy yet messy dish. Heads Up: there's no cheese and it's something you have to hold together to eat. The Rasta Pasta with Chicken and Salmon was okay. It's prepared with bell peppers, onions, carrots and bow tie pasta with generous slices of jerk chicken breast. But the edition was slightly disappointing. The original spicy and creamy flavor of the sauce was there. But the chunks of salmon were not seasoned at all. So, it was extremely flavorless each time you forked a piece of salmon. Which was a little weird for me. Because the chicken is jerk seasoned and compliments the sauce.

They made us wait almost an hour for the food. The j*** wasn't jerking. This one girl (I think she was a server) made the bartender do EVERYTHING . I was told by people that recommend this place that she worked there for years but doesn't know what the party is doing and she is super rude. The only good thing was the kool-aid and the rasta pasta (that was supposed to have shrimp in it)

I had an intimate birthday dinner here for my daughter and we had an amazing time. The staff was also very attentive and hospitable. We LOVED their rasta pasta dish! This will be a regular stop for sure.

We ordered the battered fish & chips, macncheese, chili-tai wingettes and garden salad for takeout. The food was hot, fresh and very testy. Paid $43 for everything which we think was fare considering the food was good. Took a minute to get everything but was worth the wait.

I strongly recommend trying this place out when you have a chance. The food is delicious and their prices are very reasonable too.
