I wanted to share our experience at Brothers Barbecue today. While the food was excellent, our concern lies with the service. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, but unfortunately, the manager's behavior left a negative impression.
Despite the restaurant being half empty, the manager complained about large groups arriving. I would understand his concern if there was a wait, but that wasn't the case.
What bothered me more was the apparent disparity in treatment. When white customers arrived, the manager didn't complain or instruct his staff to strictly enforce charging for large sides.
Unfortunately, this experience made me feel unwelcome and discriminated against. As someone who loves visiting Brothers Barbecue, I'm hesitant to return after today's encounter.

Now, onto Brothers BBQ. I'm so frustrated because once again: THIS IS NOT SOUTHERN BBQ. Honestly, itās not even BBQ period.
I ordered the 2-meat combo with two sidesāSouthern Style Green Beans and Candied Yams. These should be easy wins. For nearly $29, I expected way more food and way more flavor.
Hereās what I got:
2 sausages
2 tiny slices of brisket Thatās the whole ā2-meat combo.ā šš
The Sausage:
Old. Period. You can taste when BBQ beef sausage isnāt freshāthe textureās dry and crumbly, the casing is rubbery instead of snappy, and thereās no juiciness. It didnāt taste like it just came off the grill. More like it was cooked yesterday, shoved in the fridge, and microwaved before serving. The smoky flavor? Muted. The bite? Flat. Where's the soul?
The Brisket:
Edible, but bland. No depth, no seasoning. Just... there.
The Sides (aka: āle garbĆ”geā):
Let me choose my words carefully so I don't offend tew much...
Southern Style Green Beans ā steamed green beans with zero flavor. Thatās it. Not even a whisper of seasoning. How is that Southern?! You put steamed green beans in a cup and called it a day. š¤¦š½āāļø
Candied Yams ā whew chile. The yams had nothing on them but water and sugar. No cinnamon, no nutmeg, no butter, no brown sugar, no vanilla extract, no orange zestāNOTHING. Just plain sugar water drowning overcooked yams. Like... yāall couldnāt add something?! Anything?! Whereās the flavor layering? Whereās the love?
Final Thoughts:
I wouldnāt go back to Brothers BBQ. At all. And if you're wonderingāno, Handsome Devil isnāt better. Actually, it might be worse. At least Brothers BBQ remembers salt exists. Handsome Devil cooks like theyāre allergic to it. Their potato salad is so bland and pale, it looks like it gave up halfway through life.
