We've been coming here for a few years now and never have been let down. Brisket, ribs, smoked chicken, mac n cheese, potato salad, cornbread always yummy. Service always attentive. Best barbecue food in the area.

I wanted to share our experience at Brothers Barbecue today. While the food was excellent, our concern lies with the service. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, but unfortunately, the manager's behavior left a negative impression.

Despite the restaurant being half empty, the manager complained about large groups arriving. I would understand his concern if there was a wait, but that wasn't the case.

What bothered me more was the apparent disparity in treatment. When white customers arrived, the manager didn't complain or instruct his staff to strictly enforce charging for large sides.

Unfortunately, this experience made me feel unwelcome and discriminated against. As someone who loves visiting Brothers Barbecue, I'm hesitant to return after today's encounter.

Had a great experience! We had an awesome waitress - Kayla. If you go, definitely ask for her section. She was super friendly, very helpful with suggestions, and overall a pleasure to talk to. Not to mention, the food here is always delicious! Great job, Kayla! Can’t wait to come back!

I'm giving my most honest opinion strictly about the service and food. The atmosphere? Pretty much dead—nothing memorable there.

Now, onto Brothers BBQ. I'm so frustrated because once again: THIS IS NOT SOUTHERN BBQ. Honestly, it’s not even BBQ period.

I ordered the 2-meat combo with two sides—Southern Style Green Beans and Candied Yams. These should be easy wins. For nearly $29, I expected way more food and way more flavor.

Here’s what I got:

2 sausages

2 tiny slices of brisket That’s the whole ā€œ2-meat combo.ā€ šŸ˜’šŸ™„

The Sausage:

Old. Period. You can taste when BBQ beef sausage isn’t fresh—the texture’s dry and crumbly, the casing is rubbery instead of snappy, and there’s no juiciness. It didn’t taste like it just came off the grill. More like it was cooked yesterday, shoved in the fridge, and microwaved before serving. The smoky flavor? Muted. The bite? Flat. Where's the soul?

The Brisket:

Edible, but bland. No depth, no seasoning. Just... there.

The Sides (aka: ā€œle garbĆ”geā€):

Let me choose my words carefully so I don't offend tew much...

Southern Style Green Beans — steamed green beans with zero flavor. That’s it. Not even a whisper of seasoning. How is that Southern?! You put steamed green beans in a cup and called it a day. šŸ¤¦šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø

Candied Yams — whew chile. The yams had nothing on them but water and sugar. No cinnamon, no nutmeg, no butter, no brown sugar, no vanilla extract, no orange zest—NOTHING. Just plain sugar water drowning overcooked yams. Like... y’all couldn’t add something?! Anything?! Where’s the flavor layering? Where’s the love?

Final Thoughts:

I wouldn’t go back to Brothers BBQ. At all.
And if you're wondering—no, Handsome Devil isn’t better. Actually, it might be worse. At least Brothers BBQ remembers salt exists. Handsome Devil cooks like they’re allergic to it. Their potato salad is so bland and pale, it looks like it gave up halfway through life.

Amanda was an awesome server. She knew what I needed before I asked. Her interaction with the other coworkers and people dining made the atmosphere so comfortable. She is an asset to the restaurant. We will return for sure…great food and atmosphere!
