My wife & I frequently here often. Unfortunately, not too much since the Covid times. Was very sorry to hear of the closing. I hope it was by choice and not due to the crazy economic climate. Never had a bad time here. Neil was always a gentleman. His former wife was always a sweetheart as you entered. Raymond was one of the best servers we have ever had anywhere. Food & service was always perfect for us. We wish you all the best!

First time eating here and we went to get a good steak. We were not impressed. I ordered the $90 aged porterhouse, and it wasn't very good at all. Flavor was OK, but it was grey and had a lot of inedible parts to it. I typically am not the kind of person to complain at a restaurant, but a 90 dollar porterhouse at a steakhouse should be outstanding. The truth is that the steak was not as good as what I could do on my grill in the backyard. Plus, we ordered medium rare, and we got a very unevenly cooked steak. Largely, the steak was undercooked and rare, but it also had parts that were tough and overcooked. I am not a chef by any means, but in my opinion, the biggest problem was that the grill was probably not hot enough to give a good sear, caramelization, and even cook. The rest of the food was good though, which is the only reason I am even giving 3 stars. I doubt I would go back.

Pricey menu for steaks that aren't touched with an ounce of seasoning. Chef doesn't know what salt and pepper is in the kitchen. My GF steak and mine were cooked at the opposite temps we ordered, so we had to send them back. The only way to make the steaks tatse good after the arrived was to add salt and pepper at the table which everyone was doing inside so all you hear is endless grinding. It's sad when your side dishes of potatoes and beans have more flavor than the high prices cuts of meat. They had a $90 USDA Prime 28oz porterhouse special offered and I couldn't imagine getting a wrongly cooked steak that wasn't seasoned at all for that kind of price placed in front of me had I ordered it. The only kind of compensation offered for their mistakes was a glass of wine when we already had our bar beverages in front of us. Overall, poor taste in service and who ever the Chef is needs an actual lesson for seasoning food and then teach the cooks the same.

This was my 1st time here and I was highly satisfied. I ordered the French Dip Au Jous which was delicious and cooked perfectly. The french onion sauce on the side complemented the sandwich well. The bread was also nice and crispy. The service was friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable. The interior was neat and has kept a nice historic charm dating back to the structure being built in the 1700s. Highly enjoyed this restaurant and would come back here again.

Really disappointed… Average steakhouse with inflated prices. $90 for a Porterhouse special that was “just ok”.. Waiter was nice, but the service was slow and inexperienced. The room we were seated in was freezing, and smelled like cigars. I’d recommend going elsewhere if you’re looking for a fine dining experience. I could recommend several other restaurants that would be a better choice to spend over $500 on.

Had my husband's birthday dinner here our 1st time at this steakhouse. What a delicious meal and cigar lounge right after. Wonderful staff

The Waiter, Raymond, is outstanding, very knowledgeable of The Menu and how the Steaks are served ( rare, medium rare) The Rib Eye is consistently delicious. The baked potato is a meal unto itself. We have never been disappointed.

First, when we walked in there was no one to greet us and show us to a table. Second, when we were finally seated the service was excellent. The room was cold and they said the heat was as far up as it could go????? As for the food, the Ceasar salad was excellent and the fried shrimp appetizer was good except they had no tartar sauce. My friend had the prime rib which was huge and on the bone. He said it was delicious. I ordered the stuffed scallop special and they were like rubber. The waitress quickly came and apologized and offered me to order something else. I ordered the crabcake appetizer which didn't taste like crab at all...all stuffing. Mr. Schlesinger came over and offered his apologies and told us about how hard it is to get crab and lobster due to COVID delayed deliveries, which we understood. But if you can't get the proper ingredients, take it off the menu. We were not charged for my dinner and the crabcakes but it was a very disappointing experience and we won't be back. I do not recommend this restaurant.

I never go again since I had very terrible experience of their food and service. I went there with my 1year-old baby, my guest who used to work in Japan and newly started to work at the same company with my husband. I have no idea which foods other people ate delicious.1. The price: It's way over priced, really like NYC 5 star restaurant. Paid around $35 to $40 for burned steaks per each, it was too heavy and tendered made our jaws feel numb. The pasta what we tried was plain like other 7 dollar meal outside...2. Service: My group came earlier but had to stand for awhile. Also had to wait almost FOREVER to order. Even we ordered earlier than the next table, our foods came at very last and felt pushed by them to leave because they close soon. I was very upset how they cooked our steaks like stone-burned. I really didn't care at first about any race at there but felt totally gross and figured out we were the only group who did not have the same color with them. How surprised. Our dinner messed up and felt upset stomach cuz we had to finish within half an hour. My baby couldn't enjoy anything there. I brought left over steak but it was too rough and cheap quality. I paid around $210 but never EVER want to eat at here no more...:( very sad and upset experience.3. Spacious: Not as large as picture, No music but people looked elder ages.4. Even my guest felt they were very rude and disrespect customer. The server who seemed working part time was gentle but service time and all other moods to take that amount was unfriendly. We never go there and it's been 3 years as of 2021. I really have no idea where these people got that tasty, juicy foods from...

I've been going to this place for 15+ years and after a few years passed I returned to find out that it still upholds the same great quality of food and a nice homey vibe. I got a cheeseburger and my husband got the French dip sandwich, both of which were excellent. The burger was thick and juicy and the sandwich was delicious. Great place, highly recommend.

One of the best steakhouses I've been to. I've always had a great meal at Schlesinger's. But they are fairly expensive. But probably worth it. I keep going back.
