We came on Christmas eve and they were one of the few business that had opening hours. Very kind and hospitable family run business. Food was amazing, and excellent customer service. We will come back again.

The doubles was the best doubles I ever had! It was just like having them in Trinidad! Not even queens can compare to hers! We had a blast eating today. From doubles. To saltfish n bake, pastelle pie, Chinese style chicken, peppapot, sorrel and many more. Will be back again for all her delicious meals!

Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The food is authentic Trinidad and Tobago cuisine and is outstandingly maintained it's taste through the family tree. As you enter, you see the grandmother's picture who started everything and the recipes she passed on. Curry goat, curry chicken, potato stew with rice and peas and doubles roti is so delicious and filling.

Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The owner is extremely generous and welcoming. She and her strike an awe with the customers as they establish a good rapport. I assume most of the customers are repeats. She recommended several items to taste as this was a first for me and offered tasting of several items. They also claim to be the only restaurant that serves their cuisine in Orange county, NYY.

Atmosphere: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The restaurant is a small quaint restaurant situated in a small town, however, is surrounded by Indian restaurants, Sri Lankan, grocery stores, Asian stores, and a few Mediterranean restaurants. The restaurant gives away a lot of island vibes and music is good. The only reason why I give it 4 stars is that the chairs are placed so tightly together that it's hard to get in and out of the table to eat.

This restaurant gets an amazing 4.8⭐s. Definitely a go to restaurant and I will be back.

Vegetarian options: Potato stew and moong fritters are amazing!

Dietary restrictions: Hard to accommodate requests as the dishes are made in bulk and authentic to its roots.

Parking: Plenty of free car parking spots in the plaza.

Kid-friendliness: Small kid friendly items available.

Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible as the doors are wide, however, the doors aren't automatic and neither do they have handicapped parking spots near by. There are a few HP spots at the end of the plaza.

My daughter and I visited this establishment on Sunday and we were not disappointed. We called in our orders and received exactly what we asked for…Bake & Shark, Doubles (with the hook up 😂🤣😂), Curry Shrimp with rice and peas, potatoes, and Chick peas, Pumpkin, and Baiganee. We were pleasantly pleased. 😋😋😋

I have been to other restaurants where I’ve ordered multiple dishes and everything tasted the same. NOT HERE!!! Everything had its own distinct taste. Everything was absolutely delicious. Adam is the BOMB.COM. The first time I ordered Doubles I didn’t know what extra I wanted. His exact words were, “Don’t worry. I’ll hook it up. You won’t be disappointed!” He ain’t neva lied!!! The fact that he remembers me and knows exactly how to make it every time I visit is remarkable. That’s beyond excellent customer service. Joanna is the sweetest. As busy as she is in the kitchen, she always makes time to come out and greet her customers and it’s not just a hello. We conversed for several minutes about our food selections and other items on the menu. She, too, is extraordinary. My daughter and I are vegetarians and she remembered, pointing out the items on the menu that we could consume. She pays attention to her customers and that is a quality you rarely find nowadays. I definitely recommend patronizing this establishment as the food and customer service are top tier and you won’t be disappointed.

Today I had some curry chicken with white rice. The food wasn’t seasoned at all. The gravey for the curry chicken was watry. Very disappointing a waste of money.

First time at Taste of Trini and will definitely be back! The food, the service, and the atmosphere were all 10/10. Authentic Trini food, well seasoned and good portions!!! We got the goat and daal roti + stew chicken with dahl roti… doubles unfortunately were sold out (I came close to closing time), so we will try those next time. Cannot wait to go back everything was delicious! And the young man who helped me was great!

Been long overdue for a review about this place. Halal. Probably been here 30 to 40 times. The level of cleanliness of the front of the house is immaculate, spacious, and the seating is enough for individuals, couples, and small groups, which is my preference. BOH is industrial grade, dinamic; the chef/owner and the team are always on top of things in the back, fresh foods coming out at any given time. Catering seems like a good and reliable option here.

The service is this combination of professionalism and familiarity. I personally feel at home here. This is a family owned business and it shows. And they will make sure to ask your opinion about the food if dining in.

The food here is delicious, mainly due to the team's respect for texture and flavor; meats like goat and oxtails come out tender and juicy. Rice based dishes are on point. Rotis feel made to order whenever you do (you can get rotis wrapped-up or on the side). The vegetarian options are great. I find the chickpea stew/tamarind sauce in doubles and aloo pies addictive. If you are vegetarian and you don't know Trini food, you're missing out. There is this really nice spicy element -the right amount- on some of the dishes, but there are also non-spicy options.

There are deals during the week and usually special dishes coming out on Fridays and Saturdays. Guyanese cook-up rice, Jamaican patties and Indian kulfi are also a nice addition. Looking forward to try Guyanese pepper pot on Christmas; those who know, know.

Went to ?? today with my bro, and it was phenomenal!!!

Tried the national street food of Trinidad: Doubles.

Mine was surprisingly sweet, with the sauce they put on the chickpeas.

Kenny got two spicier sauces as well, but said they didn’t taste very spicy.

The owner gave us the Doubles complimentary, with a whole lesson about Trinidad! It was delightful.

We also had the chicken and spinach and some potatos. The chicken had too many bones for my fragile (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) mouth to want to risk, so I nibbled a few bites that I mashed, to be sure they had no bones, but stuck to the delicious spinach and potato and my double.

Everything was quite oily and sweet, so I wouldn’t have every day, but so delicious!!!

The cassava pone had almost a polenta texture to me. It was okay but not my favorite.
I also learned that kulfi ice cream comes in MANY flavors!!! Sooooo tasty!

I highly recommend Taste of Trini in New Windsor, NY!

Very limited parking, but fully accessible and very friendly and helpful family-owned business.

Parking: Very crowded lot

Wheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible with handicap spots out front almost directly in front of store
