Best Jamaican place in Newburgh. I specifically love their veggie patties but they run out of them pretty quick. Anything you get here is delicious! And they also have plenty of sodas, chips, bread, sweets and other products.
Glad to stop by and help Rev. AnneMarie and support her business 🩷

Late-night craving satisfied!
I was seriously craving oxtail late on a Friday night and couldn’t find anywhere open until I came across Eddy’s Jerk Center. Not only were they open after 8 PM, but they had freshly made oxtail ready to go!

The two ladies working were super friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick and warm. The food absolutely hit the spot tender, flavorful, and seasoned just right. I’m so glad I found this gem. Will definitely be back again!

From the moment I walked into this jerk chicken spot, I knew I was in for something special. The aroma of smoky spices hit me before I even got to the counter, and it only got better from there. The staff was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do—which really set the tone for an amazing experience. The vibe was laid-back but vibrant, with island music playing softly in the background and the kind of energy that makes you feel like you’ve discovered a hidden gem.

Now, let’s talk about the food—because wow. The jerk chicken was absolutely phenomenal. Perfectly grilled with that deep, smoky char on the outside and juicy, flavorful meat inside. The spices had just the right balance of heat and complexity, with layers of flavor that unfolded with every bite. You can tell this isn’t just food, it’s craft. I also tried the rice and peas, plantains, and a side of their house-made slaw, and every single dish was fresh and bursting with flavor. It’s the kind of meal that lingers in your memory in the best way.

To top it all off, the portions were generous, the prices were fair, and the service was top-notch. It’s rare to find a place that checks every box so perfectly, but this one absolutely did. I left with a full stomach, a big smile, and a craving to come back as soon as possible. Easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Five stars, no question. If you love jerk chicken—or even if you’ve never tried it—this place is a must-visit.

Tonight (12-28-24) was my first time eating at Eddy’s. I arrived approximately 7:30ish. I am basing my opinion on my experience only. When I arrived there was a gentleman cleaning up a bit. He welcomed me in immediately and apologized that the place wasn't organized due to him cleaning up. That didn’t bother me at all. In fact I like a restaurant that the workers make it their business to provide a clean environment for their customers. The restaurant isn’t huge in my opinion. In fact I thought of it as quite nice and cozy. However the place was filled with things that resemble the Jamaican culture. The restaurant has a large selection of beverages and bakery goods such as bread, bun, crackers etc. The menu was off to the right side of the wall and appeared to be visible. I was then greeted by a lovely lady. I asked if she had oxtails and she said yes. She offered small, medium, and large plate sizes. She made me a medium plate with oxtails, cabbage, rice and peas, and plantains. When I got home, I started to eat my food of course. The plate was heavy to say the least. This is the first restaurant that is NOT afraid of giving you what you need. There was a generous amount of oxtail on the plate. I asked for gravy and she gave me lots. The food was amazing. The oxtail came off the bone as soon as I picked one up. The food was fresh, and very filling. The rice and peas and cabbage did not disappoint me. I could taste the rich spices and flavorful ingredients. I definitely will be returning back to Eddy’s. I can’t wait to try the goat and jerk chicken. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for real authentic Jamaican cuisine.

There are these tiny, unexpected places that have massive presence. This is one of them.

The jerk chicken (rice & peas, and plaintain) was excellent.

I went shopping yesterday and I got sick. The chicken was not washed well. I spent 40 dollars and it was horrible.

The oxtail are the bomb and personally they taste better with white rice. The plantains are always on point, the cabbage is crunchy yet cooked all the way through. I even tried their sugar dough and it was on point. Even taste good room temp too. Phenomenal ?

Parking: As long as you’re there to order and pick up, you don’t have to worry about parking. Now it’s up to you if you decided to get your food and then walk elsewhere.
