We were at Il Cene Colo last night for my wife’s birthday. We heard so many wonderful things about the restaurant we couldn’t wait to eat there. The place was packed. Which was a good sign.
There were 4 of us. Not one of us enjoyed our dinner. I had the bolognese with pappardelle. The noodles were mushy and the sauce was like something you’d get at a diner. My wife had the Veal salvia. She said it was like eating dog food. I tasted hers and it was awful. Our friends each had ravioli. One was filled with spinach and the other 4 cheese. Neither of them enjoyed their meal at all. In total we had 4 pasta entrees and one glass of wine. The bill came to $166.00 with tax. Really??? We all were in the mood for dessert but were afraid to order it based on how bad the meals were.
You can understand if one person doesn’t like their meal but when everyone at the table had the same experience that’s not a good sign.
I will say that the service was excellent! So take my advice and stay away from this over rated and way over priced restaurant. Save your money and go to your favorite pizzeria instead.

Enter another era in Cenacolo, old school Italian American fun. For me it's all about the antipasti platter and the martinis, though the grappa and espresso are solid as well with a slice of juicy carrot cake for dessert. Entrees were a little underwhelming to be honest but I think the kitchen was too busy and undercooking all of the proteins. Truffle pasta was fun and delicious, but I'd be happy to hang out with the antipasti and grappa for hours. Grazie!

We held our wedding rehearsal here at il cenacolo, and my husband and I were blown away! We frequent this restaurant often and thought what better place to have it! Rita and her staff were BEYOND accommodating. She put her heart into decorating for us and making sure every little detail was perfect! The food is absolutely delicious, as well as the presentation of it! This place is a hidden gem and if you haven't eaten here, you are missing out! Best Italian food in Orange County!

This restaurant is too notch. The food is delicious and made with great flavor and care. Unfortunately the last time is was there they rushed us out without even asking if we would like coffee with our dessert. We were not even there an hour and a half so we weren't taking up the table.
Had a reservation for 8pm. Was told 10 minutes 3 times before finally being told It would be a much longer wait. Waiting 1 full hour. Was not offered any compensation for my time. Ultimately left because I have no idea how much longer It was going to take as no one would look me in the eyes.

We went to lunch and the minute you walk in, you feel the ambiance. This restaurant is warm and inviting, the staff could not be any kinder and the food delicious.
The Caprino appetizer is delicious! Three of us had rack of lamb and one had Fettucini with crab. All of the dishes were excellent.
I have been a long time customer and I find myself frequently revisiting. The atmosphere, staff, food, drinks, and desserts are the best around! Whenever I have a business outing those first timers become regulars. You get to enjoy the quality of food without being rushed while conversations, smiles, and laughs make you lose track of time. I have visited many restaurants in the Hudson Valley and this is my favorite, so much I had birthdays, weddings, and anniversaries at the Restutant. Try it once and you will not be disappointed.
Choosing from the incredibly long list of offerings each time you visit IL Cenacolo is a journey through the freshest and finest Italian dishes - very hard to decide! We've never been disappointed in the food, the bar, the wine list, and Rita, the best server in the Hudson Valley. IL Cenacolo is perfect for special occasions as well as for a casual mid-week meal. It's truly a Newburgh legend that will never let you down!

The food was abundant & to die for, from the fresh bread, cold & hot antipasto, 2nd course pasta selections, choice of main course entrees and of followed up by delicious desserts, desserts and desserts! Don’t forget the Amazing Wine Selection and our Bartenders who by reports make some of the World’s Best Cocktails!
