Came here for the Peruvian rotisserie chicken, but my Peruvian friend found out that only two actual Peruvians work there—one in the morning, one in the evening—and the manager is not Peruvian. She was told the chicken is just regular rotisserie, not prepared with authentic Peruvian spices, despite being priced at $30. (To clarify, this was not told to us by our server Joshua, who was great.)

The Lomo Saltado came without onions a main component of the dish, and the Parihuela soup—which was pricey—had no scallops, just a salty broth. The Yucca Frita, which we loved on a previous visit, was mushy and bland this time.

We were given a $3.64 discount, which didn’t reflect the number of issues with the food.

Joshua, our server, was excellent and tried his best—but the food and overall experience were very disappointing.

I go out to eat A LOT and this is my 100% all time favorite restaurant!!! We live almost an hour away and I make my husband drive me here almost every week.. the only restaurant where EVERYTHING is good.. food.. drinks.. service. The 2 male servers who work every monday are on top of things, always taking away empty plates and checking on us . I haven’t been able to get to dessert because I fill up too soon on appetizers and dinner haha. If you request an espresso martini they make an amazing one ! The last thing I expected to be 10/10 at a Peruvian restaurant. We’ve tried so many different menu items and not 1 thing has disappointed. My husband always has atleast one thing bad to say about a restaurant but he loves this place as well

ordered for the first time here, ordered a pickup order. ordered the machu pichu combo, the combo was supposed to come with a side salad and it was not delivered as advertised, the food was great but hopefully this won’t happen again. Also got maduros and the chaufa mixed rice.

I have lived in Newburgh my whole life. I have driven up & down Broadway seeing this restaurant neatly tucked in among the other buildings. Never gave it a second thought. On a whim, we were heading to a show at Silk Factory and wanted to eat nearby so we could walk to & from the venue. We opted on Macchu Picchu.

As soon as you enter, the restaurant is not what you would expect… a nice bar tucked to the left, a spacious dining area in the back. Nice and wide open. The service was excellent. Our waiter, David was on point & super helpful telling us about things on the menu. The food was served and we were not disappointed.

The rotisserie chicken, cilantro rice, steaks.. everything Chef’s kiss! We had the tostones, yucca frites & calamari as appetizers. Delicious, served hot & fresh! All the sauces that come to the table are homemade & can be purchased directly from the restaurant. Highly recommend the green sauce.

We are looking forward to going back and introducing more friends of ours that have never tried it there before…

Also, this is important to know… they have a decent wine selection. I am still talking about my whole experience the next day. Please check it out if you have not been.. parking directly in front of the restaurant and well lit for those concerned about dining in the City of Newburgh.
10/10!

Great food, great staff, they were able to accommodate our huge group, and even made separate checks for everybody which was super helpful. Would definitely go again!

Machu Pichu delivers an unforgettable dining experience, highlighted by their incredible Lamo Salo and rotisserie chicken. The Lamo Salo is tender, rich, and packed with flavor, melting in your mouth with every bite. The rotisserie chicken is just as impressive—perfectly seasoned, juicy, and roasted to golden perfection. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a regular, these dishes are must-orders. If you’re looking for top-tier flavors and quality

I ordered two items from the dessert menu and I have to say not worth it. I got the cheesecake and the description said with strawberry topping but mine had no strawberry topping just plain cheesecake. The second item was the chocolate cake in which you can taste the dryness and staleness in the cake. I totally wouldn’t recommend buying desserts since they are 8+ dollars and really small slices.
