SO good! We visited for brunch on a Sunday and got the croissant, the green goddess salad, and the quiche. The quiche was incredible! Not what we expected at all as the quiche itself was small but the hash and sauces and variety of flavors was fantastic. It’s dog friendly in their outdoor dining area :) We will most definitely be back!Vegetarian options: About half of the menu was vegetarianDietary restrictions: Several GF options

Such a surprise find on our way back to the city. The interior is lovely, the food amazing, the service so friendly, and Sterling the owner has brought a very authentic New Orleans vibe to Newburgh. We'll be back.

We had burnt tips and that was served with an apple fennel slaw and also enjoyed the Parpadelle with Oyster mushrooms and a Parmesan sauce with notes of fresh basil , fresh cherry tomatoes and heirloom tomatoes to complement. Overall wonderful dishes to experience! A little on the pricy side but worth it. I can see myself dining at Mama Roux in the future for sure.

Hip, warm and friendly all at the same time. This place is a gem. Great food, great staff and wonderful ambiance. Specialty cocktails were delish as was the fried chicken (moist, not heavy or oily), tuna Niçoise salad was a large portion of seared, clean tasting tuna. The Brussels sprouts are not to be missed. We all loved the menu—-wish we could have been able to try more. Next time!

Great food: second best pate I've ever had (best was made by a very experienced European chef). We had fried chicken and pork belly, also excellent, as were the beignets and coffee. You get three, so might want to order two plates. Sat on the patio, and the music selections were very pleasing. If you enjoy NOLA cuisine, you need to try it.Parking: Plenty of parking within walking distance.

We visited Mama Roux a Southern Cajun restaurant located in Newburgh, NY with friends from out of town. We ordered the fried chicken which was crisp, juicy, and not at all greasy. Some of the best they've ever eaten. Our server Caitlyn was bubbly and quite interesting to talk with. They have outside seating as well as a nicely stocked bar. The bartender was very knowledgeable. Service was also good.

Well I must admit, this review kinda hurts. My husband and daughter surprised me for Mother's Day with brunch at Mamma Rioux. This was our first time there. The atmosphere had a Sunday afternoon in Soho vibe that was upscale yet inclusive enough to include.families with strollers and couples with well behaved dogs. We sat outside in a gardenesque area that was no frills yet relaxing. Our server was a mature woman with a lovely smile and warm spirit. The menu was small but checked all the boxes for elevated brunch items. We ordered hush puppies for the table. Our entrees were fried chicken and waffles, french toast, and a chocolate croissant. Unfortunately, the majority of our selections were inedible. I will start with the positives. My daughter ordered the croissant and french toast The croissant was fantastic. The French toast had.a sophisticated flavor profile. It looked and tasted like a moist bread pudding that was too sweet and hit the palate with an oddly fragrant aftertaste - truly not the best choice for a picky teenager. She ate a few bites and was done. The hush puppies were delicious. However, I quickly discovered after one bite that the goey center I thought was some sort of melted cheese was actually raw dough. Several hush puppies were undercooked. Albeit disappointing, we decided to overlook this and not return them There were enough that we could salvage to not let one flawed appetizer ruin our experience. My husband and I both ordered the chicken and waffles. When the dish arrived, I immediately noticed the drumsticks were huge! It was obvious that the chicken was brined and then fried. The coating was heavy, thick, too dark, and almost cake like with a slight crunch. The flavor, however, was amazing. It tasted way better than it looked. The meat looked overcooked and the size of the meat was awkward and unappealing. The outside was unpleasantly dark, probably due to the brining process, however the inside was pink and undercooked. Both my husband cut into our meat and discovered we had undercooked chicken on our plates. We notified our server and pulled the chicken open to show her the pink meat and red liquid close to the bone area. She took the chicken away but left the waffle. She returned quickly enough with fresh pieces I wish I could say that things improved but we both had to send our chicken back three times! Each time the server brought out another piece of chicken, we cut into it and it was still undercooked. I could hear Chef Gordon Ramsay screaming "It's Raw!' It felt ridiculous to keep sending it back to get the same results. We told the server not to attempt any further replacement of the chicken. It seemed obvious that the chicken parts were way too big to withstand the process the chef was preparing it with. The coating was already too dark so cooking it longer may have appeared burned. Putting it in the oven may have taken away the little crunch it had. Nevertheless, eating undercooked meat is a health hazard. My husband was mortified that his surprise for me was turning into such a culinary debacle. I was hungry so I ate the waffle which by this time was cold and had the remnants of chicken crust strewn about. The waffle was wholly underwhelming without the chicken. This is where our server fell short. She should have provided us with fresh entrees so that the items remained fresh, hot, and eaten together as advertised. She should have asked if we wanted to order a different entree from the menu after she saw what was happening after the second attempt failed At the very least, she should have had the manager come to our table to make some significant overtures to compensate us for the inconvenience and negative experience. We had to ask her to adjust the bill. She removed my entree and our soft drinks. The bill still came to a little under $100 for food we could not eat nor enjoy. It was a damper on the day to say the least. We left hungry and feeling like we threw away money on a meal that was sorely lacking from beginnin

A friend recommended this place so I went with my spouse on a very beautiful Sunday for lunch. The place was surprisingly empty with a live band. Anyway, we ordered two gumbos and two entrees. I was totally disappointed as the gumbo was very waterly like a soup, nothing like the real gumbo at all not to mention without any seafood such as shrimps but just some chicken meat and sausage. My fried chicken entree was too dry and really tasteless. The menu had very limited choices and without any real common Cajun dishes like Jambalaya etc!! Overpriced in my opinion and I would rather have fast food instead.

Food was delicious, but I felt like it was overpriced. The restaurant has a nice feel when there aren't very many people, but was kind of loud and cramped once more people showed up .. Made it hard to have a conversation. The waitress dropped the f bomb while describing a dish and it took a really long time to get our food.
