disclaimer: this is more of a 3.5 star kinda establishment for me.after much research and recommendation, i stopped in to get breakfast and treats. the space is bright and airy, smelled of baked goods. ordering was easy and i picked up the following:-bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich: came with a tomato jam on a poppy seed bun. i had high expectations based on the reviews i've read ("best BEC they've ever had") and i was underwhelmed. it tastes like just how any BEC would taste, with the addition of tomato jam. it tasted fine but not mind-blowing as i'd hoped.-coffee cake: cute (read: dainty) presentation but the coffee cake itself was very dry.-earl grey tiramisu: beautiful presentation, the tiramisu had a thin, white chocolate shell and when you break into it, it had a light mousse and moist cake. the sweetness was just right too. this was the better option out of the two sweet items i picked up.i had really high expectations of this place and i felt that it failed to deliver. it was good, but definitely wasn't mind-blowing or life-changing. it was a little on the pricey side too. ok to try out but that's pretty much it.

Great bread, great pasties and coffee, but the friendly staff makes this a great place to visit. I'm not in the area that often but if I'm within half a mile I'll pop in to pick up a couple of loaves to bring home and freeze.

Trying out local bakeries is always a priority when we travel and when we read that the croissants at Newburgh Flour Shop would transport us to Paris, it jumped to the top of our priority list. Perhaps it was the article's fault for setting our expectations too high, but we were overall underwhelmed. - Croissants ($4.85): We ordered a plain, a chocolate, a hazelnut, and an almond croissant--clearly we were excited. Unfortunately, the consensus was it transported us to a supermarket rather than to Paris. - Earl Grey Tiramisu ($5): This was okay but I wouldn't reorder. I was hoping for tiramisu flavor with a hint of earl grey but it was primarily earl grey and didn't read too tiramisu to me. + Vanilla Choux Bun ($4.85): Delicious! Perfect texture and flavor. I had been hoping to try some eclairs and based on the choux bun, I have a feeling it would've been good... but unfortunately, they didn't have any out when we went Saturday morning.

I ordered a red velvet cake and it was perfect! the cake was moist and flavorful, the filling soft and fluffy and the icing perfectly applied and portioned. the best red velvet cake I have ever eaten. Big fan!

Newburgh Flour Shop has to be my favorite bakery in the Valley. I've ordered so many cakes and cookies from this place, which they've always executed beautifully. Whenever I stop by there's always something delicious and utterly unique to try. Highlights for me are the pear tart (the crust is perfection) and their bread. Oh! and I can talk about their breakfast sandwich for hours... is it the tomato chutney that makes it so special? Or maybe the fresh roll? Whatever it is I hope it never changes. Not only is everything delicious, but it's so close to the Washington Headquarters. I recommend eating your Flour Shop goodies on one of the benches and take in the gorgeous HV views. It's one of those 'life is good' moments that you shouldn't miss.

Everything we had was delicious! The bacon, egg, and cheese were excellent and the cake I had was so flavorful and moist. We ate everything and will definitely be regulars.

They made such a creative and delicious devils food, vanilla filling and vanilla buttercream cake for my husbands birthday for our 80s party. I sent a few photos of what I wanted via email and they did even better than I imagined. We may be driving up again from Brooklyn for another cake!Thank you so much!

In from out of town I ordered a cake for my husbands birthday to take to our Airbnb a few miles away. It was soooo good! Ready when we arrived and enjoyed over the weekend many times.. peanut butter and chocolate, like the one in their photos. It was better than I could have hoped..well done:)

Delicious BEC, especially the bread. The chocolate croissant was delicious and buttery! Great coffee. Things do sell out, and they close early.

My husband and I absolutely loved our rehearsal dinner/birthday cake from Newburgh Flour Shop. It was beautiful - exactly what we envisioned, and everyone raved about how delicious it was! Liz was a joy to work with and made the process special for us. Would recommend Newburgh Flour Shop to anyone!

One word: WOW! Following a recommendation from our venue, we ordered the desserts for our wedding from the Newburgh Flour Shop. All five desserts were delicious and guests are still raving about the chocolate peanut butter gâteau. We hosted guests from Europe, Latin-America, and the US and everyone agreed that the desserts were both original and excellent. In collaboration with Christina, we came up with a diverse and unique selection of desserts tailored to our individual preferences. She is very creative and always took our ideas to the next level. She even accommodated some of our requests to add pops of color to the desserts to make them visually appealing, resulting in a stunning dessert buffet. Most of our communications leading up to the wedding happened with Liz. She has the best energy and was always on top of things-very smooth from start to finish. We also appreciated that they were willing to accommodate a last minute change to our order (canceling a smaller birthday cake as the guest could no longer attend at the last minute). Two tips for couples who are seeking a desert caterer: (1) Don't hesitate and sign with the Newburgh Flour Shop before someone else snatches up your date and (2) only order 2 pieces per person (instead of 3) as the desserts are pretty big, unless you want to send your guests home with some of the best treats they've ever had. No matter what; you can't go wrong with this dream team!

Newburgh Flour Shop is an incredible establishment. You will not find a better bacon, egg, and cheese in the Hudson Valley. Pro-tip- order it on one of their fresh baked biscuits if you wake up early and are lucky enough to snag one. The pastries are unbelievable... Truly. There is not a better bakery in the area. For holidays, I always purchase several pies and they are always delectable. Finally, the croquembouche available during the Christmas season is one of the best things available, possibly on planet Earth. If aliens invaded tomorrow, our leaders should gift them one of these and they would spare us just based on the fact, not opinion, that it is one of the best tasting things in the galaxy. Not joking. Thank you Newburgh Flour Shop, keep it up

Top notch bakery no question. The hazelnut croissant is amazing. Mike the owner always makes sure we feel appreciated and his shop is the only bakery I find myself going to regularly. Check it out.Ps… if they have the mango pineapple macaron when you go there, get it. Hands down a top 3 most delicious baked good I have ever eaten.
