I've been eating here for years, one of the best Jamaican food you can find around that area. With that been said, the food is not the issue but there is this particular female that doesn't gives a rats ass about the business. I never got her name, but her attitude stinks. She doesn't greet customers and speak to everyone just the same, she wears some long eyelashes and move slower than snail even when there's a long line. She's always on her phone, nevermind the long line of customers waiting to place their order. I went in there one morning before work and I just wanted to get 2 patties but she was there talking on her phone and moving even more slower that morning and about 4 people was ahead of me in the line. She's been there for a while, so I'm guessing she might own the business or related to whoever runs it. I'm not one to do reviews, but her attitude will surely push away good customers.

The workers there are VERY nasty and they NEVER put meat in the soup. I see them them pick up the meat with the ladle and put it back in the pot. They do that so when the store closes, whatever food is left over, they take it home for themselves nasty people. I will never go back.

I should have read the reviews before I went there. mistake on my part. So many 1 star reviews its insane. So Im glad to add my disgusting experience to the board
I went to get my order yesterday 9-30-2025 and this one female preparing food behind the counter was on her ipod yapping ...giggling away and moving as fast as a sloth with no care .. .Mind you at least 6 people were waiting for thier orders.. Atmosphere does not feel friendly or inviting at all .Total waste of time when there's people like her not working to serve correctly.. obviously her personal conversations are more important to her than running a business correctly..
I can now see how they brilliantly picked out the perfect name ( Island Jerks )for their business...they just forgot to add an S to the end.
Keep your Grub. Ill Spend my money somewhere else.

Went in yesterday afternoon with my daughter, got a large curry chicken with white rice got a large curry goat with rice and peas cabbage. Customer Sevice was horrible. The young man seemed irritated like I was bothering him. I went home. My husband couldn’t even eat the food. How much curry do you put on the curry goat? Was that intentional my husband couldn’t believe it. For a man who is ate Jamaican food for over 40 years could not believe the amount of curry! I’m 100% believe I was racially profiled because I’m white and my daughter is white really shouldn’t matter but my husband is black and has had Jamaican food all his life Elmont Hempstead Uniondale never had this kind of issue. Unfortunately, I didn’t check the ratings before I ordered the food big waste of money almost $40 wasted plantains were dry and disgusting. The rice was dry and old. I’m a resident of Deer Park and the community here takes quality food seriously and do not want to be racially profiled. You should talk to your workers about their customer service and their biases shouldn’t affect the quality of food and the service I receive they’re hurting your business

Would give a zero if I could. Stew chicken was horrid chicken seemed old and coc bread was stale and hard. Order was supposed to be buy one get one on uber. Will never buy none again. This place fell off.

I gave a 1 because when we took our food out of the greasy bag . One of my son’s chicken had plastic stuck on it . He really wanted Mac and cheese he had me take a pic of it because he stayed home he said never mind it looked like either velvetta Mac n cheese or kraft that’s so true and their was only a lil bit left in the pan they had anyway so, at 1 pm in the afternoon there was no more only a small pan they made .. smh I asked him how was his food he ordered the rice and cabbage with it and plantains … well the plantains were really hard and disgusting. He said his food was not good and why would I order from a place with such a low star rating . My other son ordered the fried chicken with rice and peas he took a few spoonfuls and complained his stomach was hurting and he went to the bathroom and had diarrhea a couple of times the whole container of food sitting right here he did not like it . Now if I had cooked it his plate would have been clean . Now we are going to talk about my food I ordered an ox tail it wasn’t good at all the rice was in lumps I think this rice is old o had to spit some out , the peas and carrots in the cabbage were made from cans . I couldn’t even finish even half way thru my food I had to run to the bathroom my stomach was hurting it gave me diarrhea real bad a few times my stomach is messed up for the rest of the night because of this food . It probably would of been better like in the past if they had real Jamaicans in there but, it looks like they have Africans working in there in now because Jamaicans complexion is not that dark like that I’m not crazy that was a waste of money I will never go there again this use to be my favorite place for Jamaican food . I Do Not recommend this place for even ya”ll animals .

I ordered this through uber eats for lunch today I ordered stew chicken rice and beans with plantains and cabbage , the food was dry. I got 3 chicken bones and like a half scoop of cabbage so disappointed, now I have to order something for lunch , smh 🤦🏾♂️ what we doing Nerrisa Knowles brought my lunch through Uber eats

I gave them 1 star because their customer service is nonexistent. I haven’t been here in years for the same reason, but I decided to give it another shot since I was in the area. Big mistake. I stood there for over 5 minutes—completely ignored—while three employees walked around. I was the only customer, and they wouldn’t even make eye contact. If you don’t want to interact with customers, why work in food service?

I've had a previous issue with this place a couple years back and so I never went back until last. So previously I order food walk right out the restaurant and all my food goes ripping through the bag i asked to replace and the women were so nasty and rude and told me i had to pay again. Thats not my fault that you're bags you give out are not structurally capable of holding your food. Last night i went there ordered rast pasta and a Jamaican patty the rasta pasta taste like peppers and water no seasoand tasted old. The beef patty was mushy stale and disgusting. Just reminded me why i stopped going to this place super disappointed again.
