Unfortunately not a very warm experience. Was ignored by waitstaff. Heard really great things and was really looking forward to eating here.

Large, clean rooms. Friendly staff. Only negative was the bed: mattress was a bit thin and pillows were way too firm (I usually have a travel pillow - I'm particular).

I was searching for a place near Oneonta for a family reunion for a few days and didn't realize that it was Baseball Hall of Fame Induction weekend. I couldn't find any rooms except Fred's Inn in Norwich.
Upon arrival, the place looked serene. There was a restaurant on the left with two levels of rooms in front and on the right. There was a sign on the restaurant door that stated check-in, which went very smoothly.
We unloaded our stuff in our upstairs room, which was clean and spacious. There were plenty of towels and linens for the 3 of us and even a fold out sofa for our kid. We found extra pillows in the drawers of the built-in dresser. The bed was comfortable, and there was a nice gazebo below to sit at.
We decided to try the restaurant, which was the best decision all weekend. It was phenomenal, and the portions were enormous with decent pricing for the meal size. The starter bread with oil was fresh and warm. We started with the fully loaded potato skins, which nearly filled the 3 of us up. We also got the Fred's Smothered Stingin Chickin, Fred's Burger and Mozzarella Sticks. All of the food was awesome. I don't know why the place isn't overloaded every night. When I go back, this will be a definite stop, even if I have to go out of the way.

Fabulous food, bring your appetite, portions are large. Great bartender and wait staff. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Room was very nice, clean and convenient to restaurant. Would definitely stay again when in the area.

This is for the restaurant. Received crab cakes with some type of sauce that tasted like blueberry or grape, did not belong with the flavor of the crab cakes.
Had to return for forks and knives despite request for same.
Prime rib sandwich was sandwich steak, not prime rib.
Baked stuffed potato was 4-5 small bites of potato with a speck of cheese, the potato skin was hard and inedible.
Very disappointed.
Glass of Zinfandel was good. I prefer to leave reviews for wonderful food or service. This is one I needed to write.

Really a nice little country motel, rooms are spacious! Food is amazing, awesome serving sizes! Quaint little bar that is awesome, rooms were really good , beds are comfortable! Location is a little out of the way but still close enough to some amenities! Definitely would stay again if I happened this way! We were at Unadilla motocross track, took about 30 minutes to travel one way!

We stayed here one night and weren't sure what we were going to find because of some of the reviews. The room was spacious, clean and had a fridge and microwave. The decor is a little older, but it was comfortable, and we would definitely stay again. The food at the restaurant was delicious, and the bartender was great. The only recommendation we have would be to put blackout curtains in the rooms as the mini blinds don't keep the light out.

We stayed 1 night at Fred's. It was very clean, bed was comfortable and it was quiet. These qualities, to me, are important. Small things that really are not that big of a deal when staying at a motel were that the room was a bit dated, the bathroom sink took a while to drain and the screens on windows needed a bit of work. Overall, it is a good option for a place to stay when in Norwich.

Service and food are always outstanding.

I’ve never been to a restaurant that charges a mandatory 20% service fee so it was quite a shock when we got the bill after the Mother’s Day buffet. They never disclosed this info (which is illegal btw) and their excuse was that it was normally on the menu but they “didn’t think to mention it” for the special events. Poor management. The server’s attitude was also poor when I asked what the 20% service fee was and why we weren’t told about it.

I usually always tip (unless the service was horrible) so that’s not the problem, the problem is the choice being taken away from the customer and not being properly informed.

The food was bland, Mac and cheese had no flavor. They were running out of deserts and food 2 hours before they ended the buffet and stated they wouldn’t refill. Worker cutting meat and making waffles also had a bad attitude.

Overall not worth the price they charge nor the mandatory 20% fee they don’t properly disclose. Drive a bit further out to Binghamton area, you’ll be way happier for way less money.

For a steakhouse they should find a cook who can cook steaks properly ordered 4 12 oz ny strip steaks came thinner than a sandwich steak girl said cook made a mistake those where steaks for the special got our 12 oz raw as raw can be threw it in the Chef Mic for 30 seconds sent back out offered a round of drinks we accepted than found on our bill any ways paid cash but was charged the credit card adjusted price if you can’t do better just offer a menu you can handle out of 6 people 2 got there meals total bill still $250 after so many mistakes steer clear spend your money at Taco Bell and at least get what your expecting

I have eaten here several times now and have to say it is pretty good. I have had the ribeye, it was a bit fatty, still great. Also had the steak sandwich, just as delicious. It is a bit pricey, yet worth it once in a while.
