Stayed this weekend and had a great time. The property is beautiful! We loved that we could book a room with bunk beds for the kids. Dinner at the restaurant was great as well. Decor is cozy in the best way. Everything we could want for a weekend in ADK
We recently had a large wedding at this resort and booked every room for our family and friends. The only guests were wedding guests. The manager obviously did not want to deal with a wedding of this size. No housekeeping, no direction as to where to get fresh towels or anything. If that’s the policy that’s fine; but telling your guests upon check in or even having someone around to ask would have been appreciated. We had to go looking for people any time we needed anything. No staff at the front desk. They complained non stop and were literally taking drinks from open bar out of the hands of guests as they proceeded to the cash bar in the reception area. Did people drink out of their own coolers? Yes. If the bar wasn’t open or the choices we listed that we wanted for our guests were not available..yes. We were never told we couldn’t bring coolers for after the bar closed at 10pm. We were accused of ‘not respecting the rules’. No one was around to tell us the rules! They treated us like we were a problem and looked for any excuse to shut the reception down. There were no fights, no damage to property. It looked better when we left than it did when we arrived. We cleaned the property Sunday, picked up trash and anything else left by our guests - without one word of thanks or even seeing the manager. The breakfast buffet provided for our guests was cold and not in the least appetizing. Most left the property to go elsewhere. No, I would never recommend this facility for a wedding. The location is gorgeous. That’s literally the only good thing I can say about it.
Tasty American food at a fair price. The staff is very kind and the lakefront view is spectacular!

The most awful meal we've had. Along with terrible beer choices. Had nothing we asked for, no miller lite, no type of guiness. Settled for a dirty martini that came out pure olive juice! We ordered shrimp scampi, it had exactly 4 pieces of shrimp, no flavor with just cut up tomatoes and carrots. Fish tacos with stale floppy shells and one little tiny fish nugget in each shell. The nachos are not nachos, but under cooked potato chips with melted slices of American cheese on them that a 4 year old could make. Not to mention a dry chicken sandwich that could chip a tooth. Just sad....
Thomas our server and Melissa were excellent.
Our food and drinks were perfect.
The salads are awesome as well as the Lobster Mac n Cheese were fantastic.

Finally! The new owners really turned this place around. Food was great, maple chicken sandwich was on par, service was excellent. Will be back after a few year hiatus.

Most other joints were closed on a Sunday afternoon in the winter, and we’re glad we stumbled upon this cozy place! We had fish and chip and their cheese curds. Fresh, hot out of the fryer, and delicious!

By far my favorite restaurant/bar/atmosphere in Old Forge. I love the ease of going down to the Lean To when we stay at Great Pines, but also love going there when we've rented a large cottage with our extended family. The atmosphere and staff at the Lean To is like family. It's always a good time, the food is always amazing, with their ever changing and seasonal menu offerings. I LOVE that they have such great vegetarian offerings on the normal menu. Drinks are the best at the Lean To. AND it's dog friendly! Just doesn't get any better!
Vegetarian options: Not your average options that are thrown on just to please a specific crowd. These are well thought out delicious choices and change seasonally. SO YUMMY.

We had an excellent time in our 3 day stay. Great accommodations and would definitely stay again. Can’t wait for our next trip. Our dogs loved it too with the dog park on sight. It was an anniversary trip for us.
Sweet view from all around the property. Plenty of places to congregate and visit. The staff was always accommodating. Wedding took place at a nearby family camp, and the reception was held at Great Pines. Merriment ensued.
Bookeed a room on Booking.com which was supposed to be without deposit or prepayment. 1 hour later my creditcard was charged the full amount. I cancelled and got my money back with a small loss due to differences in bank fees. Neither hotel nor booking.com cares about that.
Pretty place to stay with awesome lake view. Only problem was central air which shoud be great. It wasn't however, because the lone thermastat was in the hallway. When it kicked on the room became unbearable hot forcing us to get up and open a window.
