We visit the Owl every time we are up here. The food is always excellent and the serving staff always friendly the Owl is always under staffed. Our server was a lovely hardworking girl but she was covering two tables inside and the entire porch area and she also served as the bus person. The cocktails are creative but low on the actual alcohol content.
The Owl has a charming back porch atmosphere and we have really loved it in the past. I am sure it is a challenge to run a high end restaurant in such a remote area. This summer it felt like a basic and limited menu with poor service. Salads, steak and fries were good. Osso bucco was served room temperature (not hot, not cold), wine service was late, bread basket small enough to feel awkward for the price.
We have been going to the owl over 20 years. It's the best food you will ever eat in the Adirondacks and better than most restaurants in the state. It's a special place with great people. Worth the drive.
Never fails to serve the best meals and drinks. Always feel welcomed like we're always there but truth is only visit once a year! Worth the 1 1/2 hr drive. Mark & staff are the best!!
We had a great time at dinner at the Owl at Twilight! The restaurant was sold out and the musician (Gary Hempsey) was outstanding! We enjoyed the Swordfish and Gnocci specials, and really enjoyed the Fried Green Tomato salad - it was superb! The waitstaff was delightful - very nice, professional, and attentive. Can't wait to go back - it's really the only nice restaurant for 25 miles around...
We had a wonderful experience here! It is a unique and cozy setting in a converted old home with a fabulous screen porch as well. The owner flies in fresh seafood every week, highly recommend ordering whatever that is, as it will be deliciously prepared. The seafood stew is also amazing! The owner is very personable and attentive, making sure every facet of the meal is top notch.
One of our favorite places to dine in the Adirondacks. Fresh, delicious, farm-to-table dining.
Had a great dinner. The Ahi Tuna special was phenomenal. Friendly staff/owners. Good drinks. Was a perfect setup for the weekend!
Great food and atmosphere. A real gem in the Adirondacks!

My boyfriend and I were recommended this gem from a local in Schroon Lake and it did not disappoint.
Our server Kayla was a sweetheart and made us feel so warm and welcome. The owner was also very lovely as we arrived.
The food is fresh and locally sourced and hats off to the chef. We shared the salmon special, the beet salad and the mussels.
They had a live band playing and it was my birthday dinner. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
Highly recommend this place! Thanks for the hospitality.

What a wonderful meal! Enjoying our first trip to the cabin - in the Autumn - to experience colors, we made reservations at The Owl at Twilight. We began with appetizers of roasted cauliflower with blue cheese, pork belly on sweet potato puree, and a beet salad - all amazing! Entrees were superb, as was the Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina. We enjoyed panko encrusted salmon on cauliflower rice, beef tips, and chicken saltimbocca. We boxed up half of the huge portions so we could have room for bread pudding, flourless chocolate cake and cheesecake. Truly, the best meal we have had in the Adirondacks and we have been coming to Minerva for decades! For my full balanced review, I will add that the live keyboard was lovely but the singing was very loud for a dinner discussion - the microphone was not necessary in the cozy dining room. Looking forward to our take home leftovers tonight. We will definitely be back!
Such a hidden gem up in the Adirondacks. We always enjoy our visits AND last go round we were treated to a local jazz band! Limited menu and seating so reservations are highly suggested!
This restaurant is located on a rural road located next to a trucking business, as a result somewhat difficult to locate (even using Waze). The food was quite good, and the chef deserves kudos for that! Here comes the bad. They had entertainment, an old fashion corny lounge singer and his keyboard guy. The restaurant is small, but this guy had his volume turned up so high that my husband and I could not hear each other talk and had difficulty hearing the waitress. It made the evening hard to take. As a result, we would not return to this establishment in spite of the good food.
Great dining in Olmsteadville. Food is on point. Daily catch was excellent and portion was generous. Pork Oso Boco is always good. Relaxed atmosphere
Fabulous restaurant!! We drove 2 1/2 hours and will do it again. The food was Fantastic!! The dessert was excellent. Suzy was Wonderful!! Mark you have great establishment.
