the food is always amazing
Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had with a company claiming to be a small business. I showed them a photo of what I wanted, asking for the chicken to be replaced. The person at the front said they could make a similar taco and adjust it. However, after just a few bites, I noticed the chicken tasted off. I brought it back, and they agreed to replace it with another menu item.
As I sat waiting for the new meal, a very rude gentleman—who I believe is the manager—approached me. He became defensive, insisting that I was at fault for ordering the wrong meal, claiming I should have known the ingredients based on a photo. This was my first visit to the restaurant, and I would never recommend it to anyone. They had already overcharged us for the meals, and after initially agreeing to replace mine at no extra cost, they then demanded I pay half the price for the replacement. The manager’s attitude was completely unprofessional and out of line.
the service is the worse thing i have ever had i waited a hour for my food and they asked if i had got it yet and i said no waited 20 more minutes to find out they havent even started mediocre food.
As someone who is proudly Mexican, I went into this restaurant hoping to enjoy a taste of home—or at least something close. Instead, what I experienced was not just bad food, but a shallow, careless representation of my culture. I was genuinely curious when I came across a place called “Wacko Gringo”. But from the moment I saw the name, something felt off—and unfortunately, the experience that followed confirmed it.
First, the name itself is disrespectful. “Wacko Gringo” tries to be edgy or funny, but it ends up mocking both cultures—reducing Mexican identity to a joke and using outdated stereotypes for cheap laughs. It sets the tone for a place that doesn’t take the culture seriously, and that’s exactly what I found inside.
The food was completely lacking in flavor, authenticity, and heart. It felt like an empty imitation of Mexican cuisine, made for people who don’t know any better. There was no soul in it—just bland, generic dishes that missed everything that makes our food meaningful.
What made it worse was the overall atmosphere, which leaned more on cliché than culture. It felt like a place trying to cash in on Mexican identity without showing it any actual respect.
It’s frustrating to see something so personal reduced to this. If you’ve ever had real Mexican food—or if you want to understand what it should taste like—do yourself a favor and skip this place. We deserve better than this.
Delicious food and margaritas!
Delicious. We stop here whenever we're in Oswego, and I wish there was another one closer to home.
The food was phenomenal. My wife and I did notice a few changes to the menu for things we were excited to eat but were no longer there. It is what it is. The wait was about 15 to 20 minutes and we sat outside. It was clean inside and out and the burrito I had was really tasty.
Love the food. Wait time was not bad and staff very friendly.

Great food !!!
Just tried the avocado fries and they were out of this world! I would definitely recommend! And the Birria Shrimp Tacos were so good! Excited for another summer of Whacko Gringo!!
Delicious food and kinda pricey.
A nice locally owned fast casual restaurant
Bang bang shrimp and quesabirria tacos are phenomenal. Cute little bar inside as well. Have always received orders (in person and delivery) promptly and accurately. Happy to have a place like this in Oswego.
