Ernesto’s Authentic Mexican Restaurant

Had an epically bad order from this restaurant delivered by Doordash. I received almost nothing that I ordered, and the items substituted without my input were garbage. No communication regarding any issues from the restaurant, they just forced their unacceptable choices upon me.
One of the worst restaurant take out orders that I've ever experienced. I recommend that people avoid this place as I will in the future.

I placed an order online but realized I was overcharged so I called to cancel four times and noone answered. I went to the location and even though all of the neon 'open' signs were on, the doors were locked. I eventually got a hold of the owner who refused to give me a refund and accused me of "changing my story" to try to get my money back. This was the worst service I've ever received from a restaurant.

Finally had a chance to stop at Ernesto's and were very disappointed. We were the only people seated in the restaurant which had charm and character and were mostly ignored except for when the salsa was delivered. Nachos had basic white cheese and ground beef. Zero flavor. Steak burritos had good amount of meat and peppers and onions....very little flavor outside of the veggies. We were supposed to have received queso fundido and received some sort of liquified, runny white cheese....again - no flavor! When it came time to leave we caught the eye of the waiter (owner?) three times and he ran back to the kitchen ignoring us. We had to take our plate up to the counter for a take out container just to leave.

Do yourselves a favor and don't go. Not sure how they've been in business so long, or how they even have a 4.4 star rating.

I can’t comment on the food as I have never had authentic Mexican, my partner has and said he’s had better. It was decent in my opinion. I felt it was sort of odd to be in there at lunch time on a Saturday and for it to be fairly empty. The server was nice!

Kid-friendliness: I did not have kids with but a family seated a few tables down did. The server seemed to be very accommodating.

Recommended dishes: Chips, Salsa

Parking: It's not a huge lot, but it seems to accommodate the need for the restaurant.

Amazing food and service! We stopped in and wanted a nice home cooked meal in a quiet place and we found the right place. Very friendly staff, great portions for the price. Would highly recommend the chimichanga and the tamales. I will be back next time I am in town.

Today, I was really craving an Omelette and had called all around town (in Sayre) to find a place but wasn’t satisfied. I remember a friend of mine telling me about Ernesto’s restaurant and looked to see if they served breakfast, and to my surprise THEY DID! I really wanted a steak and veggie omelette and Mr. Ernesto did not disappoint! He came over with a cheerful demeanor, asked me what I wanted and made the magic happen! I enjoyed the environment as well! When I went it was only me, but I enjoyed the music and conversation with Mr. Ernesto! The food was hot, fresh, and the SALSA was AMAZING! I will def be back and recommend anyone looking for some good homemade Mexican food to come here! Also, the Horchata (my absolute favorite drink) was PERFECT! ?????? I will be back! Thank you for the amazing service, and right at home kind of feel.

The customer service was top notch and the food was incredible. Stopped on a whim and a google search on the way home from a softball tournament, and we will definitely be back. It’s worth the drive. 2 thumbs up 5 stars and 10 out of 10 do recommend

We arrived as 4 tables were finishing and paying. So, we were the only table in the restaurant. It took 15 minutes from the time we got our drinks for the man to take our order. The food arrived quickly and tasted good. You only get two tiny wraps with your fajitas. He never came back to ask how our food was or if we needed refills.

We finished eating and was waiting for the check. The man was at the counter watching videos quite loudly. Another 15 minutes later we were able to flag down a lady to give us the check.
You would think being the only table in the restaurant you would get actual service.

I won't ever be back.

The food made my friend and I sick. The food was okay, I've had better.
The waiter kept forgetting to bring us things. The atmosphere was pretty good. It's great to have a Mexican in Auburn, but since my friend and I got sick from the food, I'm concerned they're following health guidelines like using gloves. Unfortunately, I've found out that a lot of restaurants in the area, the cooks don't use gloves. I hope that whoever is in charge of enforcing these laws will be more on top of things. No one should get sick from dining out.
