This is the perfect place for casual drinks or a date night! And the food holds the same great quality when your order to-go!

Atmosphere and people were awesome and attentive. Unfortunately should’ve listened to the reviews I heard about their tacos because I was Highly disappointed. $14 for 2 chicken tacos and the Tortilla they use is completely gross. Bad tasting and can’t hold anything in it. Chicken was seasoned nicely, but the presentation was terrible.

Was excited to try this place for the first time, ordered the salmon main and guacamole small plate (since I was told that both of my first choices were unavailable). The guacamole was virtually flavourless so ended up getting sent back. The salmon itself was good, but the blue jasmine rice it was served with was also flavourless - seemed like it was just there to be pretty rather than contribute anything to the meal. The edamame was slathered in sticky sauce, which felt like an odd choice for a food typically eaten with your hands, and there was no bowl provided for the used shells. Ate the salmon and left the rest. Service was okay, not the best, but it was pretty busy so can't really fault that. Overall pretty disappointing, left hungry and won't go back.

Ordered to go both my mom and I ordered the sauté dinner and I had the steak and she had the chicken…exact same thing exact same price. She got 5 thin slices of chicken when I got a full serving of steak. Called to mention the frustrating situation and I was put on hold for a shift lead. Didn’t get to speak to anyone just cause ppl order Togo it seems they sneak small serving but this was outrageous and blew my mind.

I’m so glad I came in for brunch/lunch. This is a pretty spot with really good food and drink options. I ordered a Smoking Bishop. I watched the bartender smoking it at the bar. It looks like a tiny whiskey cask with a hose funnelling the smoke to the drink and a cover to keep in the smoke. Aside from seeing it (because it’s pretty cool tbh), I didn’t find it tasted smokey at all, not even a hint. It was tasty but I’ll opt for something else next time. I’ve been able to really get that smoked whiskey flavor elsewhere but I’m not sure what their process was.
We also had an Italian soda - lychee flavor, it was a bit sweeter than expected but full of flavor. We enjoyed the lobster croissant, it had great flavor. I’d love to come back and try a few other things too.

Had the most amazing brunch here on Sunday! The Chorizo Benedict was absolutely perfect, and everything we ordered was outstanding. It's easy to see why reservations are recommended for brunch - the food, atmosphere, and service were all top-notch. The fall and Halloween decorations made the place feel so cozy and festive. We also tried the creme brulee, and it was hands down the best I've ever had! Can't wait to come back.

Think Korean-inspired tacos stuffed with tender short rib and kimchi slaw, or a Thai basil stir-fry featuring local heirloom veggies and plump shrimp, all layered with herbs and spices that pack a punch.
But let's talk about that terrace-it's the crown jewel. Perched riverside, it offers panoramas of the water's gentle flow, especially during sunset. MJ’s isn’t just a restaurant it’s a vibe and must go when in Owego.
