Wonderful dishes; creative, varied; all delicious and beautifully presented. Service was excellent, pleasant, attentive. Venue is beautiful but a bit noisy, since all the surfaces are hard and the ceiling is fairly low. Looking forward to our next visit, which might be at an off time so it's a bit less crowded and, therefore, maybe not as noisy.
We found L'Etoile recently after opening 10 months ago. The ambiance and service were great. The menu of traditional French brasserie is well written with a lot of great offerings. The food was delicious and well thought out. We both had the duck. The breast ordered MR was slightly overcooked and a very thin piece (1/3) of the breast. The leg was a little bland. I couldn't taste any of the cure flavor and the way the skin came out it seemed to have been deep fried. It's a little pricey for what you receive but you have to consider the location. When ordering my wife asked for the pink peppercorn sauce on the side because she doesn't care for pepper. The waiter mentioned a $4 up charge which seems a little unnecessary.... The beef tare tare and escargot were delicious as well as the meringue and creme brûlée for dessert. We plan to go back and would recommend it.
We visited for a Valentine's Day dinner and had such a wonderful experience from start to finish. The service was exceptional — the team walked us through the evening's specials, explained each dish in detail, and thoughtfully answered all of our questions about the menu. It made choosing (and ordering!) even more exciting. The ambiance is small, quaint, and charming, with plenty of windows that give the space a warm and intimate feel — perfect for a romantic evening. We ended up ordering quite a few dishes because everything sounded too good to pass up, and not a single plate disappointed. We began with a thick-cut slice of bacon served over sweet potato purée with blackberries. This dish absolutely deserves a permanent spot on the main menu ...it was that good. The balance of savory, sweet, and rich flavors was incredible. We also enjoyed the wagyu beef tartare, perfectly seasoned and paired beautifully with crisp crostinis. Next, we tried the cold lobster salad, which was as delicious and refreshing as it sounded. For our main course, we both chose the Duck l'Orange. The skin was perfectly crisp, topped with a light peppercorn and orange sauce, and served with fresh orange segments that brightened the entire dish. It was elegant, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. We also couldn't resist adding a side of frites and ratatouille to the table — and we're so glad we did. The frites were perfectly crisp and golden, and the ratatouille was fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor. Overall, it was a stunning meal and a truly memorable Valentine's dinner. We'll definitely be back.
Everything was amazing! The Cocktails and Service were outstanding (10/10) and the food was great 8/10. But the all around experience was unmatched and brought back industry standards that have been missed. Run there now before it gets too busy to get in.
This was our second visit. The food was disappointing this go round. The salmon was dry with not much flavor and the mussels in white wine, leeks and cream sauce were also lacking much flavor. Sorry!! The burger was very good!
Excellent food , drinks and service. Love this place. Food is always delicious whatever you order.
Very pretty restaurant. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and friendly. Food was wonderful.
everything is on point! lobster thermador was fantastic, lump crab the largest u will find, caviar service excellent
This French-style restaurant hits the high notes for service, food and drink. Whereas many Long Island "French" style bistros exist, L'Etoille is unique. Brianna was our server and she did a yeoman's level of service to accompany our experience. The menu covers appetizers, soups, mussels, salads and entrees with something for everyone. The cocktail and wine choices are superb. Try the Sidecar cocktail, a blast from the past, updated for today! The dessert menu did not disappoint with its selections. We will return to delve deeper into the menu again. Bon appetite.
Extensive menu and incredible food. The service and staff were very accommodating and pleasant.

Beautiful restaurant. Food was delicious. Our waitress was very attentive to us. All were so hospitable.
My family and I ordered a variety of dishes, including the French onion soup, escargot, charcuterie board, moules frites, the burger, tuna tartare, and salmon with mixed vegetables served with extra-creamy mashed potatoes. For dessert, we had coffee, crème brûlée, and chocolate mousse. The appetizers, entrees, and desserts were all incredibly delicious. The atmosphere was very cozy and modern, and the service was outstanding. Our waitress, Julia, was lovely. The only downside was that it was noisy with everyone chatting. Aside from the noise, I would still highly recommend L'Etoile.
Overall, the food was very good, but the experience fell short of expectations. We enjoyed the mussels (though a few weren't fully cleaned and the dish needed more seasoning), the fries were excellent, and the entrées were solid. The main issue was the pacing and service. Our waiter struggled to explain the specials, took a long time to come by for anything, and every cocktail order arrived slowly. What should have been a normal dinner stretched to nearly two and half hours, and one of our friend's meals was brought out incorrectly and took a long time to be replaced. Even the birthday dessert — a crème brûlée — wasn't comped despite the earlier mix-up. By the time we left, we were essentially closing out the restaurant. For the price point and reputation, the experience didn't fully match the expectation, even though the food itself was enjoyable.
Had a special occasion so wanted to try out this new, nearby restaurant. Everything-food, ambience, service-was only at the satisfactory level in comparison to other French-style restaurants here on Long Island and in Manhattan. A pleasant enough evening, but we don't feel compelled to go back.
Very unimpressed with this restaurant no ambience high prices extremely small portions and fair service at best
