Best ice cream i ever had
It was ok
I normally don't review Ice Cream shops but Carvel has servived the times! Over 50 years, I've grew up with Carvel, even when other competing franchise came around in the 80s. I have to comment on this particular location cause of their outstanding service. 3 weeks ago, on a dreary cold rainy day, I came in and saw a happy singing and dancing worker named José. He is such a happy person and sold me with his personality. He told me that there are limited flavors such as the dreamy creamy, the cold brew coffee, and the biscoff. I have been back every week for those same three flavors before they discontinue them LOL. I told his coworkers the following weeks that we should all learn from his pleasant way in life. Customer service was so good here that I actually tip the box something I don't normally do. I don't know about the other locations but I highly recommend this one!

Owner is completely rude and disrespectful to employees cursing them out and being very disrespectful tears up my pay check after being mad at employees

WORST food establishment I’ve ever been to. I had had ordered a custom cake here a while ago and ask them specifically to put a certain image on it as I used to get custom picture cakes from this place and it used to be a 10/10. This time this woman at the front messed up my order and switched up the colors I asked for the background and the icing around the cakes and gave me a black cake with red icing around it instead of a red cakes with black icing around it. Then the picture that was on the cake had such bad quality that you could see the black icing through it (which is the color I didn’t order all around the cake) and you could barely see the picture as all the colors of the character on it were dull and it was done so poorly without care. I contacted them about it and they gave me such a run around when it was right there to my birthday as I ordered over 3+ days in advanced. I didn’t have a proper cake for my birthday since it was so messed up and couldn’t even post it since it looked so horrendous..like if I paid over $60 for a simple cake to have a single picture on it I’d hope it would be done well. I told them I’d prefer my cake redone and I told them how to redo it and they reluctantly agreed after taking to their manager and asked for 3 more days when atp it’s passed my birthday. I agreed and just gave them a break and then they did it again and they still didn’t listen to what I said to fix the cake and gave me the same results. I let them know that no, this is not what I asked for and had to retell them AGAIN where they messed up ( the colors, quality etc) they had me talk to so many employees and they were all so rude and just have such a disgusting attitude that makes me never want to give carvel my money again. Then then told me that they would redo it for the last time and it would be at the Liberty Ave location for me to pick up. I thought that was so weird since I ordered at this Atlantic location but I said okay and waited THREE more days. Afterwards, I decided to call the Liberty Ave location to let them know I’m picking up the cake and if they have my order ready and they didn’t know what I was talking about and they advised me to call up this carvel location again since the order was put in here and I told them what they told me and it was one big ridiculous confused mess with workers who didn’t want to do their job. I called the atlantic location again and told them what happened and the other workers denied that they said that and they said they talked to their manager and they said they can’t make the cake again because they already remade it once (terribly) and that if I wanted them to do it again I have to buy a whole new cake. HELLLLLL NO, they are crazy if they think I’m giving them anymore of my money. They also didn’t want to give me a refund and were completely nasty when all I wanted was the cake I paid for to not look like crap.Thank god I was able to get my money back through my bank. I heard they changed the staff and whatnot which makes sense as to why they are doing so horrible now, as the cakes I’ve gotten from the place previously where correct and the staff used to be so nice, but now it’s a wasteland of terrible service and people who have no idea how to do their jobs. PLEASE if you don’t want to waste your money and want things to be done right do not get any cakes done here, and just like the other reviews said if you want to get unwelcoming rude employees speaking to you and messing with your order then come to this establishment. If not, then RUN far away from this place

I went there for ice cream and the employee there was super rude he kept rolling his eyes and when I said thankyou he ignored me if you don't want work don't work stop treating people with no respect young guy what a shame no respect and no love for what you cause I don't care what you do in life do with respect love never going there again ice cream was horrible too

If I can give ZERO STARS for this establishment I would. The employees are so rude. I went in tonight 950pm on 6/17/24 (on Atlantic and 107 Ave Richmond hill) and was told “it’s whatever right here” when we were looking. All because they wanted to leave at 955pm. Disgusting behavior by the Hispanic male with designs in his eyebrow. Didn’t even greet us and I had my children with me for a late night snack. Disappointing experience because it’s a neighborhood to go to for us. We didn’t bother to get anything. There were still buckets of ice cream but he was telling us we can only buy the pre packaged stuff. as we walked out 955pm, they turned off the lights and closed up. The sign said closing was at 10pm so I don’t understand we couldn’t get two scoops of ice cream for my 8year old and 4 year old . Disgusted by the way he spoke to us and his attitude. I won’t ever go back there again.

Staff member seem to be having an off day all my sister did was asked if they gave away free scoop of ice cream for your bd and staff member looked at her like she was speaking another language he then said no in a rude way we just paid and then asked for a bag he picked one up from off the floor and gave it to us we just left but the experience was not memorable given that that it was my sister birthday and the fact that she loves Carvel ice cream.
