I hate making negative reviews because I know they work hard and I want them to thrive. The food was not good and expensive! We were disappointed. We got the expensive steak and a burger.

I had tears of pure joy when I ate here today!! No words! So delighted to find this gem in the village I grew up in. Keep doing what your doing folks, because you're doing it well! 👌 I'll be back

If there were 6 stars I’d give it. Such good food. Great service. You’re in for palette experience. I would have taken photos but my food disappeared before I thought to take one.

Yelp said they opened at 11 on Thursday, the sign on the door said they opened at 11 on Thursday, the message on their phone said they opened at 11 on Thursday...BUT NOBODY WAS HOME AT 11:30????

We've had The Hog & Hen on our radar for a couple of months and finally made it in today for Sunday brunch. WOW! The food was so fresh and delicious. You could absolutely tell that everything was scratch made in-house. The burger was one of the best we've ever had. The house made hash was also amazing. The breakfast burrito has house-made breakfast sausage and is one of the best around. Joe knows how to cook and how to make a great craft cocktail too (we recommend the Cranberry Bourbon Smash). Megan (Meghan?) was a wonderful host and we enjoyed chatting with her and Joe both. We tried her orange cinnamon roll that was amazing. We're looking forward to going back for lunch or dinner next time to try the other menu. If you have not eaten here, you need to give them a try a.s.a.p. Well worth the short trip from Fairport for a change and some really good eats.

I had lunch with a dear friend here yesterday. I had the Rachel and she ordered a salad and a side of pomme frites. We both raved about our meals and she was very happy with the available vegan options. Our server was friendly and efficient and I had a nice chat with the owner about how he came to set up shop in Palmyra, my hometown. I will DEFINITELY be back and will be bringing my friends. Best lunch out I've had in a while.

The Hog & Hen restaurant in Palmyra is a truly first rate restaurant. The ingredients are fresh & locally sourced, the cooking is thoughtful and excellent, the staff are so warm, friendly, and helpful, and the space is very cool. If you’re in upstate New York, definitely have dinner there!!!

We have dined at Hog and Hen a handful of times and have brought different couples with us each time. The menu is simple but diverse. Something for everyone. We had the special short ribs with mashed potatoes and carrots. Every element was perfect- tender fall of the bone beef in a wonderful gravy on top of buttery mashed potatoes. My husband had the pork chop which was perfectly cooked and topped with a seasonal peach glaze that had a nice hint of heat. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service is great. Good attention to detail and our desires. Highly recommend!

You have to try this place!! The food is some of the best I’ve ever had.

Food is very good...chef/owner is very personable. However I really dislike the seating across from the bar. Seems any time I go here we are seated in this area. It's a really tight fit and with other couples so close you can barely hear your convo...not ideal for a 20th anniversary reservation.

Quaint restaurant on Main St in Palmyra. Simple menu with tasty dishes. I had the grilled veggie wrap with house cut French fries. It was delicious. Other notable options are Mr Crunch which is a play on a Cuban sandwich and the Buffalo Chicken Sando

Was excited to try this place but left somewhat disappointed. It was 90° out and they don’t have any air conditioning so it was just as hot if not hotter in the restaurant.. I definitely wanted an iced latte since it was so hot but the espresso machine wasn’t working. We were the only table in the restaurant (other than 1 person sitting alone at another table) and we waited at least 15+ minutes for our iced coffees that were watered down. At this point we were way too hot to have a hot breakfast. We asked if they had any fruit we could have a bowl of. The server had to guess the type of fruit they had cause she didn’t know, and didn’t even end up having that as an option.. brought us out something different without informing us.

The staff was friendly and the decor was inviting but lacked elsewhere. Hopefully this is just a one off.

Adorable restaurant - loved the vibe here. It was a very busy Wednesday night! Place filled with couples, families, friends, and even solo diners. My friend wanted to try the burger - doesn't it look delicious? Her fries were handcut to die for! I tried the chicken schnitzel. Large portion - salad was so fresh! Chicken was very flavorful. We both enjoyed the place and so much food, we had to bring doggie boxes home with us. Nice choices on menu, plenty to choose from. We had NO room for dessert, but their lavendar creme brulee would have made it to our table if we did!
