We happened to come across The Country Cafe driving through the East Coast of the States on our trip from Brisbane, Australia. We called in for a coffee and muffin on our way to Niagara Falls from Corning. We had a lovely chat with the owners and the coffee was lovely and the muffin fresh! These little spots were the highlight of our holiday!
I rate diner/ restaurants by comparing two items- 1- Hash and Eggs with home fries and rye toast. Here they make homemade corned beef hash that is delicious. Home fries are real potatoes- not deep fried diced potatoes or the shredded stuff often served. B- "Cheeseburger Deluxe". Here its a huge burger on a tasty roll with choice of cheese. On a trip to the Capital Region for several days, I ventured into Schoharie in the Central New York Region for a long daytrip.
