After reading reviews, I was expecting so much more. We both had steak and fries and they were just average. The appetizers were extremely pricey and nothing special. The biggest disappointment was the dessert special, which was peach Melba. I would’ve thought since it was on Special and it was summer that the peaches would’ve been fresh. They were canned peaches with a scoop of ice cream and a sauce for $14. So two people two steaks, two appetizers, two desserts two drinks. $200. Not worth it.

Good food however cooks need to properly clean shrimp…none were deveined
Uhm… meh. Was fancying a bit a meat. Came here and was disappointed. I think my NY strip came from the Shop Rite down the road. I ordered it medium rare and it was cold in the middle. Fries were over cooked. And the stuffed mushroom starter was kinda sad with no taste unless you got a bite of the tiny bit of goat cheese that was on it.
Underwhelmed.

I live in the area and this was my first time visiting this restaurant, we went on my birthday. Unfortunately I was incredibly disappointed and I’m never one to write reviews. I got the rib eye steak medium rare and my girlfriend got the sirloin. Both were overcooked and had next to little flavor. Service was very slow as well and took forever to get a refill. I was a former server so I feel bad writing a not so great review but I wanted to share my experience. If you were thinking about dining here for a special occasion, of course make your own judgment, but I’ve had much better steaks and service around the area.

This place is a joke we went to get the 20 dollar special, but there was no steak. The steak was advertised in the meal a few weeks back in front of the restaurant. The Caesar salad mentioned it had steak but when we talked with the waiter, they said it’s they don’t do that. We spoke with the manager and he was so rude to us. He showed no emotions and talked back rudely to us. We left. Awful place. Bad management.
Great food, great friendly service, and it was nice of the owner to come to our table and ask how everything was.

So I want to start off by saying I have been a repeat customer. This was my third time going there and probably my last. I have been to upscale restaurants before and the waiters are friendly. Every time i have come to this restaurant the waiters are dry and unfriendly. They just look miserable. The atmosphere is nice. If you are getting a meal stick to the regular. Do not get any special. The only thing special about the special menu is the size. It looks like it’s for a kid. We are not bug eaters or greedy. It says $19.95 special. Got the hanger steak. I wasn’t expecting a big steak but definitely not a 3oz. At minimum a 5oz considering its a thin cut and cheaper cut of meat. If you want vegetables instead of fries its an up charge and its very small. Thank goodness we ordered from the regular menu as well otherwise we would of stood hungry. Don’t get the octopus appetizer. Its mostly full chick peas and not really octopus. For the price its not worth it. The octupus is almost the size of a index finger of a 5’6” man

If you are looking for authentic Portuguese cuisine in Rockland or Bergen county, this is the place to visit. Delicious appetizers and entrees at not-too-exorbitant prices. They have a decent selection of Portuguese wines and nice desserts too.
