It has been years since I was at Pindar. I was looking forward to going to it during this wine weekend with friends. It has become so commercialized it and lost its cozy and quaint feeling. Compared to the rest of the wineries, it is at the bottom of the list. Wine in plastic glasses served on paper plates with numbers written beside themđ¤Śđťââď¸. It is a shame because they do have some great wines there, like Mythology. We probably wonât come back here on the next venture as there are better, more relaxing places.
I booked the Sparkling Room a few weeks in advance for my sisterâs bachelorette. If you book this room, make sure to call the day before otherwise it is likely they will forget about you. We walked in for an 11am reservation for 10 people, where we prepaid for the tasting, and we were told there is no reservation. After seeing that I was visibly annoyed and mentioned I had provided a deposit, they went looking and found the reservation. The room was not set up and was freezing (as there was no heat put on given they forgot about us). I do not recommend for large groups.
We came here for our daughterâs 21st birthday, my partner and I wanted to do something nice for her with our family. We called when making the reservation and the first woman we talked to was completely respectful and helpful, and the second woman not so much. She was rude. She went on a list of rules of what we could ânotâ do - when my partner did not even ask to do any of the things she was referring to. Mind you, we are respectful and would never do anything a venue prohibited and we understood. While we got this list of ânotâ to dos - we get there and every single person is doing everything on that list. No balloons? We were specifically told that the staff would pop any balloons that were there if we brought them. Multiple parties had balloons, no one popped them. We were told we couldnât put tables together, ( even though we didnât ask to ) and multiple people put tables together to fit their party size. While understanding it was quite busy, it was extremely hard to even get one drink there. Needless to say, if you donât like your job then donât do it. Thereâs no need to be rude to people who are respectful to you. We will not be coming back here.
Great place to order, and even a great place to visit. Their wine selection is amazing, I have shared with my friends their winter white and most have ordered it over and over taste it and you will also be amazed at the quality and taste of this wine.
Came here over the summer because of the great reviews and word-of-mouth. Truthfully, I was expecting a more sophisticated vibe. A lot of the guests here were dressed very casual and brought foldable chairs, so my group stood out. Did not like the self-serve aspect (you have to order drinks at the counter in the front and bring it to your table). Also, the bathroom was to the side separate of the place and was far away from our seats towards the vineyard. Some of the wines we had were very enjoyable such as the Summer Blush and Autumn Gold, the rest we werenât too crazy about. The wine flights were a great price, $15 for any selection of 5 wines. We didnât like that they came in plastic cups, we thought the presentation couldâve been much better but we later figured since itâs self-serve the plastic was probably used to prevent any glass breaking. Overall some aspects of this vineyard didnât live up to our standards and personal likes, but offered some delicious wines for a great price.
I love this spot. My husband and I come out during the fall time sometime and I appreciate the weather and somes white wine hangout in the back looking at the grape winery's â¤ď¸
Had so much fun here this weekend! The grounds are beautiful, wine was great, and the live music was so fun! We canât wait to go back!
I highly recommend visiting Pindar Vineyards for a tour and/or tasting! And I write very few reviews so when I do, itâs because I was blown away by the experience ?. Our group of six was interested in a tour to learn about the wines and winemaking process, in addition to tasting the wines. After contacting at least 10 wineries on the North Fork and striking out with each one, I was told that Pindar is one of the few that offers tours. And they were the only winery able to accommodate us on short notice (24 hrs) - which was especially gracious since theyâre in the middle of harvest season!
Nancy took my call and was happy to schedule a tour for the following day, followed by a tasting. She could not have been nicer! Meeting Nancy in person and learning from her about Pindarâs operation and their wines was an extraordinary experience!! She is super knowledgeable, friendly, and the most gracious host. We learned ALOT during our tour. And she does a great tasting experience, as well. She is a super lady!!
I canât say enough about how welcome Nancy and everyone else at Pindar made us feel. And the wines are really wonderful as well. Whether you prefer reds, whites or sparkling wines, there is something special for you at Pindar. We finished our visit by sharing a bottle on their lovely outdoor deck while watching the sun set.
If you ever have the opportunity to visit this amazing place, I believe you will be very happy you did! Itâs really something special.
1. Wine tastings were served in plastic cups on paper plates
2. No pairing options. They have cheeses in a corner deli style fridge that are right out of a grocery store. You have to cut yourself with plastic utensils and paper plates
3. They require $20 deposit per person for groups. This can be used to buy a flight, glass of wine, beer, cider or cheese. These items cost. A glass of wine for example costs 10, 12 or 14 dollars. But they force you to use your 20 dollar deposit for only one glass. So basically, pay 10 dollars cash for a glass or use your 20 dollar deposit. Complete rip off and the manager in the front looks are you bare in the face knowing she's ripping you off and this is not communicated in advance.
4. If you enjoy nice wine, pindar is nothing special in that regard. You will not want a second taste or glass of anything.
5. I took a large group of friends and family there this past Sunday, I was so embarrassed between the plastic cups, paper plates, cut your own stop and shop cheese with plastic knives, no space for groups to be together and the deposit rip off. It was a disaster.
I am not a wine connoisseur but i enjoy wine a lot and I've been to wineries all over the country, save your time and money and go somewhere else. Pindar doesn't squarely hit any of the marks you look for in a winery.
Superb vibe lots of choice from live music to the scenary and prices its a must visit . Amazing staff verry helpfull

This place is a go to for a great afternoon. Awesome music (Fleetwood Macked) and overall you get the vibe of being on vacation. Great Sangria too both red and white. Really enjoy coming here?
Nice breezy day for August. We visited on a Tuesday for Sangria. The live music stole the day.. the musician was great.
Always a great time at Pindar
It was a lovely afternoon. Great music and great wine
Pindar Vineyards in Peconic, NY, is a gem in the heart of the North Fork, radiating some of the best vibes in the region. As soon as you arrive, you're greeted by the sprawling vineyards that set the stage for a memorable experience. The tasting room is spacious and inviting, with a laid-back, unpretentious atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease.
The staff at Pindar are not just knowledgeable about wine, theyâre passionate about it, and their enthusiasm is infectious. Whether youâre a seasoned wine lover or a curious beginner, they make you feel welcome and guide you through their extensive selection with genuine warmth.
The wines themselves are a delightful journey through the flavors of Long Island. Their signature Dr. Danâs Merlot is a standout, rich and smooth with just the right amount of tannins. The Sunflower Chardonnay is another must-try, offering a bright, crisp taste that perfectly complements a sunny day at the vineyard.
What sets Pindar apart, though, is the overall vibe. The outdoor seating area is perfect for sipping a glass of wine while taking in the beautiful views of the vineyard. Live music often fills the air, adding to the relaxed, joyful atmosphere. Itâs the kind of place where you can easily spend an entire afternoon, enjoying great wine, good company, and the simple pleasures of life.
If youâre exploring the North Fork, Pindar Vineyards is an absolute must-visit. Itâs not just about the wine here; itâs about the experience, the people, and the unforgettable vibes that make you want to come back time and time again.
