ZERO STARS! They are incompetent, careless, inconsiderate, and reckless. My sister called and asked if they made gluten free food, they said yes and she ordered. Only for the noodles to not be gluten free, and their stupid response was that they gave her gluten free sauce. How can you be so dumb? Their carelessness resulted in her having a severe allergic reaction. Count your days Yumi Asian Bistro. Do better!!

I stopped by Yumi in Pelham Parkway for dinner with my husband. The two ladies working the floor were kind and welcoming, even though it was close to closing and they looked like they had a long day. We were seated along with another family.
Unfortunately, the experience with the cook was very disappointing. He seemed frustrated from the start and repeatedly got the orders wrong, even though he asked everyone what they wanted beforehand. Instead of correcting himself calmly, he became visibly irritated. At one point, he left the food unattended to get more rice and even threw the tray of noodles onto another counter.
As he served, the food was tossed carelessly onto the plates most of it landed on the counter instead. I’ve eaten at many hibachi restaurants, and I’ve never seen service handled this way. The food itself was poorly prepared, and the entire experience felt rushed and unpleasant.
I understand it was late, but that’s not an excuse for rudeness or sloppy cooking. In the end, I couldn’t enjoy my meal and ended up taking it home my dog enjoyed it more than I did. Sadly, I would not return to this location based on this experience.

This spot was fire 🔥. Total hidden gem. The food came out fast, hot, and the portions are MASSIVE. I wasn’t expecting to be this full lmao. The hibachi chef had jokes the whole time and actually made it fun — not just the usual “cook and leave” type thing. Staff was super nice too, no attitude, just good vibes all around. If you’re looking for solid food, chill energy, and want to get more than what you paid for, this is it. I’m 100% coming back.

Def a hidden gem . The portions were crazy big like I legit had leftovers for the next day. The chefs were hilarious and made the whole hibachi experience super fun (10/10 entertainment AND flavor).
Service was great too, super chill and on top of everything without hovering. Vibes were lowkey but solid, perfect for a fun dinner without all the extra. Iykyk this spot’s underrated fr.

Don’t even waste your time here. We tipped the person cooking the food then when time to pay we tried our card the lady said it was declined mind you we just used it at Bjs so we tried 2 other times with different cards she go and say it’s not her problem if the machine not working. Also she was mad because I didn’t tip them when I said I already tipped someone. Horrible costumer service feels like they purposely make it seem like the card is declining so you can pay cash.

I was really enjoying my take-out until I found 5 long strands of hair in my rice. I would of probably forgave 1, but 5? The appetizer container that the rice is put in is very small, so to find 5 long strands of hair is beyond unacceptable. I will not be going back. I will say this, it is my second time getting take out and it did not happen the first time but the amount of hairs found totally negates my original experience.
5 years later and I took my chances and went back. Maybe I am a glutton for punishment. The food was even better than I remembered and guess what, NO HAIR. I will be visiting again (fingers crossed)
