Union Block Italian at the Landing

I have eaten here a few times over the years. Food is consistently excellent. Last week I ordered the orecchiette with bolognese sauce which was outstanding. I look forward to going back on my next trip to Penn Yan.

Union block is so consistently good !! Sauce is great... love choosing my pasta type to go with long or short sauce. Salads and entrees are generous portions but not huge. Wait staff is friendly and attentive. Drinks are not skimpy either. Price is fair and desserts are very good!! I have been eating here for quite a few years and have never been disappointed. Well done, Josh !

Parking: Food was excellent including Calamari. The wine by the glass was so reasonable, $9 a glass and we were able to hang at Upstate Brewing next door for a pint of fab beer before our dinner!!! Outside seating by Kuika Lake a bonus!!!

We really enjoyed our recent visit to Union Block. We were seated on the outside patio with a view of the outlet on a perfect summer evening. The garlic knots provided were divine! The lasagna with the bolognese sauce was excellent! I can’t wait to come back again!
My only issue here is they do not take reservations… you can luck out and be seated right away or told you have a 2 hour wait. I

We visit the finger lakes occasionally, and initially Penn Yann felt a bit sparse in terms of dining. Union Block was the first place we found that started to introduce us to the charm of the town. I'm not even a fan of Italian and I've really liked everything I've had there. Not cheap but not expensive, and worth the price.

Parking: The entrance is off the main road and there is very limited parking down where that is. It's easier to plan on the lot being full and park on the road.

Vegetarian options: Vegetarian -yes vegan no. The eggplant parm was delicious. Please consider offering zucchini noodles in place of pasta

The food was fantastic. Drink selection superb. Kids' menu items were on point for the little ones in our group. The atmosphere was cozy, but it definitely got loud at times, and it got hard to hear across the table if you had a large group like we did.

Wow did we love this place! From the well priced bottles of wine to the perfectly seasoned gluten free cauliflower crust, this Italian restaurant is a must-visit.

Went to this place with some friends and family, we were all looking forward to some good itlalian food. However, I was a disappointed with my carbonara, the sauce wasn't the right consistency/texture and the garlic was so strong it overpowered the whole dish. I ordered the fresh housemade pasta but unfortunately didn't get to appreciate it because of the strong garlic. My boyfriend's bolognese was good, but some of the meat in the sauce was cold. He ordered a meatball with the bolognese which was juicy and tender. My friend chicken masala was under seasoned. The complementary garlic bread was delicious. Overall the service was good but the food was lacking, I probably won't return here.
