We stumbled upon Olar Noso and were very happy we did. The food selection was very diverse, offering a nice mix of Spanish tapas and Italian delicacy. They also offer a better than average wine selection, at reasonable (restaurant) prices. The salmon tartare stole the show, but the Gorgonzola stuffed dates, garlic shrimp, and meatball tapas dishes were amazing supporting roles to an overall great meal. Their homemade potato chips made for great table pickins as well. We'll definitely be back to try some of their meat entrees (someone near us had the skirt steak and that ranks top on the list). Well done Olar Noso (but I'll take my skirt steak medium rare when I return;)

We had a very good experience for a party of eight, celebrating a milestone birthday. Our server was very helpful, making suggestions that would work best for a large group, and the amount of food was perfect. For all of the food and drinks, the meal was also extremely reasonably priced in my opinion.

Olar Noso is a true gem in Northvale. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The service was just as impressive: warm, attentive, and professional. What really stood out was the owner personally checking in on us to make sure everything was perfect. That kind of attention is rare these days. Can’t wait to come back!

Make host spent 10 minutes wiling menus before paying us any attention as we stood in front of him at the podium he was at. He looked at us a couple of times and completely ignored us. Our waitress Michele was fantastic. Very loud

I give credit fo a menu that is not full of the usual suspects that you find in Northern New Jersey restaurants.
The specials are actually special in the sense they are not the same specials you see in 25 of the restaurant menus, they are imaginative, well prepared and presented in reasonable portions.
Way too many restaurants around here try to dazzle you with massive quantities of mediocre food, not here The portion sizes are reasonable but the food is good very good.
Worth the trip.
PS the service was very attentive and friendly, not a bums rush to get the hell out of there, again like so many other restaurants around here.
Go to this restaurant, select any one of the very excellent specials and repeat.

Olar always exceeds our expectations. The freshness of the food, the combinations of flavors, and of course the amazing staff is the cherry on top! The experience is worth it. We appreciate knowing that when we go to Olar we are always treated like family. We have our favorite meals, but their specials change often and we can’t help but try the new things they come up with. I highly recommend it, but definitely make a reservation. It’s not guaranteed to get a seat when you walk in, but worth a try. Keep up the good work in all you do!!

My wife and I had dinner at Olar Noso a couple of weeks ago. For most of the evening, we had a nice experience—the food was good, the pacing of the meal was fine once it got going, and the atmosphere was pleasant.
However, the night ended on a very disappointing note. While we were still enjoying our dessert and after-dinner drinks, we were presented with the check. We paid promptly, but just minutes later—while we still had limoncello in our glasses—we were told, “I hate to do this, but there are other people waiting on the table.” We felt rushed to finish our drinks and leave, which was both awkward and inconsiderate, especially after spending over $200 on dinner.
I took the time to write an email to the restaurant afterward, hoping to share constructive feedback. Unfortunately, that email was never acknowledged, and my concerns were completely ignored.
There are plenty of great restaurants in the area, and as a customer, I have a choice. Based on this experience and the lack of response from management, I will not be returning—and I won’t be recommending Olar Noso to others.
