The owner and his daughter were unbelievably kind, courteous and pleasant. They treated me not as a guest but a family member. They have enormous amount of curio’s that I was just fascinated in! If you go please tell Ella (16yo golden Lab) that I said hi!

I went to the colonial inn about 15 years ago on a hunting trip. I continued to go back for 4 years in a row after that. It was the coolest place I ever been!! I then moved and couldn’t get there again until May2,2024 for turkey hunting. The place hasn’t changed much Thank God. Steve the owner his Daughter and son are the nicest people you ever want to meet real down to earth Country folks. Just love this place and will use any excuse to come back!!!

This hotel can be compared to…… hmmm….. nothing!!! There’s no place like the colonial! Hotels like this don’t exist anymore and I would give this place 10 stars if I could.Colonial is an experience. It’s a hoarded up, unique, eccentric grandpa vibe inn with just about everything you don’t want to see in a modern hotel. Ceiling water stains, creaky floors, spider webs, wobbly beds, ripped rugs and you name it…. They have it. However…. Where you need it clean…. It’s cleaner than you could do it yourself. And yet…. My 5 star, all inclusive, resort loving, spoiled self would stay there every other weekend if I could. This place is run by the most loving, warm and non judgmental people you’ve ever met. You are family there and these people don’t care who you are and what you’ve got. They will buy you drinks ( mini beers - local shot that cures complaining) or make you get your own if the bartender isn’t there. They will act as if you’re their long lost friend and serve you breakfast, that you will eat whether you like it or not.We stayed in room number#28, which was right next to room #11, because you know….. the colonial. WiFi worked great, shower was warm, room was hot, bed sheets were clean and mattress was butter soft.Book over the phone, pay cash, tip everyone and chat with the locals!!!

Hello Everyone,I've had a season pass at Belleayre for several years. I wanted to get there early before a big storm hit recently and researched all the motels and Air Bnb's in the area. The Colonial Inn had a lot of 5 star reviews but some 1 star reviews. I was looking for a place for my wife, 13 year old daughter and myself. I booked it and crossed my fingers. It was amazing. The owner Steve and his daughter, Heather are so nice and their place was magical. I've traveled all over the world and I've never stayed in a place like this. It's like a museum in someone's house. They have a bar that brings all people together. There were forty people in the bar. Parents, kids, locals and everyone just bonded. They have a parrot Sweet Pea that the kids immediately gravitated to. The bar had darts, pool table, Sweet Pea and free jukebox. Now to the inn, it was constructed in 1790. It was opened by the cousin of John Adams so it has a lot of history. No Tv's in the room but you don't need it, the main area has a big screen and history everywhere you look. The beds are memory foam and super soft. Place was very clean, redone bathroom. Overall review. I loved this place. It was incredible. Heather and her dad Steve are so nice. By the way, the free breakfast was better than most diner breakfasts, omelet, bacon and french toast. Also, they have a really good Mexican restaurant right across the street, Tito's. This place is quirky in the best way.

Got caught driving late at night with my elderly parents and wife, we were by Kingston and called some motels and one called super 8 if i remember correctly answered the phone and seemed rude, skipped that place.Called some other and they were booked I decided to look further up North and called the Colonial Inn they had availability for the night. About 3 minute drive from Kingston NY.Got there around 10:30pm and little did I know this place would be full of life upon arriving!! I was expecting a typical inn/motel and wow was I in a for an amazing surprise. When you pull up it seems like its just a big ole’ house and essentially it is, but this has a nice twist, its a 1790 construction turned into god know how many businesses throughout its history, but its currently an inn.I walked in and just the front yard left me mouth opened, relics everywhere, a collection of a gone by era. When you come in, you just get shocked at the amount of old objects that surround you.!! I fell in love with this place and right then and there i KNEW I HAD TO STAY HERE!Met with Heather and shes very accommodating and showed us our rooms. The place has a very nice bar with all liquors served and beer of course. I came back down to just admire the place and there so many things to look at i am sure i missed many objects!!Owner invited me by the bar and this is a hang out spot for locals and everyone, was super friendly, I really loved this place. Everyone was having a drink, laughing cheering and just chatting away. Get this, owner bought me a drink!! The owner Steve in my book is a legend! This man is 82 and still works on the place, cooks and has such a beautiful soul! I would go back just to talk to this man! Turns out we went to the same school but at different eras of course! What an amazing man! God bless him.Oh yes I forgot to describe rooms, the place is very old so if you’re into fancy, corporate style boring motels/hotels please stay away, this place has character! Yes floors creak but people in the 1790s walked them floors! The bed in my room was so comfortable and my room was nice and warm! Showers were hot and did I mention I loved this place?Day after me and family woke up and Steve, owner, cooked us breakfast and can he cook !!! Better breakfast than a corporate restaurant!!This place is a hidden gem, Steve makes the place along with his daughter I do hope customers know how nice it is to stay at a family run business, but here is the thing, this place doesn’t even feel like a business. We felt like Steve asked us to stay over. I hope I have time to go back and stay. The town itself is tiny but very accommodating. Make sure you visit the Mexican restaurant across the street.Noteworthy details: Very charming place with a lot of antiques that you can look at

I love the Colonial In been going there with my kids since they first stared skiing. It is old and rustic a step back in time. I am relaxed and able to feel at home. There will be people that do not like the place those folks can go elsewhere :-} The folks that see the place the way it is and can appreciate a place over 100 years old will have a good stay. I sat with Steve as he told me his story on how he came about getting this place. He made a great life here and it shows. You see how people appreciate the love that is in this place that Steve created in it.
