Sitting outside, overlooking the water and beach was a perfect dinner experience. Not only was the environment super pleasant, but our food and drinks were top notch too. A bit pricey but that’s to be expected for anything nice on the water. Totally worth it, in my opinion. Can’t wait until it’s summer again and I can go back to Point Lookout!

I came in town to visit family and we met at the Clam bar. The service, food & vibe was excellent. This was a perfect Sunday spot, The bartenders were friendly & fun and the food was great.

Everything was great….food, drinks, service, atmosphere and location (except not enough parking). We couldn’t believe the amount of food per serving. I would definitely return with a small or larger group!!

The point lookout clam bar and fisherman's catch have joined forces creating one large restaurant bar area. This is the spot to be overlooking the water about 100' from the Buoy bar but twice the size so easy to accommodate a large crowd which we were a group of over 20. On Friday we went for soft shell crab which was delicious served fried with cole slaw and fries. On Sunday we have the tuna tacos and an order of mussels both were excellent. The bar drinks were very good and our group had a very good day. Bring a bathing suit for the kids as there is a small beach and you can have a little swim.

We have come here a few times a summer for years for sunset. Not easy to get a last minute meal outside in summer on LI with sunset view. This is a good spot for that and the food although expensive is OK for mostly fried food. The problem is the last year or so when you settle in at your table and glance up at the horizon where you can even see the NYC skyline you have to look across their neighbors dock which a year after the election is still loaded with political commentary. I used to get some great photo's while here, can't anymore. Point Lookout needs to enact some community regulations about posting signage to protect their once beautiful seascape feel. Sorry you lost us.

The Point Lookout Clam Bar is a very casual beachy seafood restaurant. They have a long pier with outdoor high top tables for dining and Adirondack chairs for cocktails, both overlooking the waterfront. They serve frozen specialty drinks from their full bar. The menu is fried, and raw seafood with bar bites and burgers. We enjoyed an overcast day here with friends. The puna colada’s, mussels, fried clams, seared tuna and crab cakes were delicious. We added mozzarella sticks and onion rings.

The atmosphere was great because of the ocean view. We had to pay first before receiving our meal. The table was filthy and the busboy put a bag of the table, he did not even clean it first. We had to go up and order the food and pay for it. Ok, I had no problem with that. The food was absolutely horrible. It was fast food for people who dont care about what they put in there bodies. The crab cake was burnt and filled with everything except crab. The stuffed clam looked and tasted horrible as well. When I called the manager over, all he wanted to do was fight with me. He had the nonchalant attitude,, He did not care. My husband orderedd the seafood combo. Well how could you mess that up? Well again, no seafood, just old fried up oil. Dont waste your time or money!!!!! I could go on but I wont! 113.00 wasted!!! The drink was good though. I had water! Paper forks, no napkins as well...
Absolutely delicious lunch on a sunny Sunday Afternoon. Everything was incredible. Staff was so nice. Mike is the sweetest guy.

My husband and I went here for lunch on a beautiful Monday afternoon. We have not been out to many restaurants to eat due to Covid but we were very comfortable with the spacing of the seating. I had the grilled shrimp tacos....really nice grilled flavor. Fresh and tasty. My husband had the crab cake sandwich. Large portion and very flavorful crab cake. Sun was shining, cold beers and really well prepared food. What more could you want! We’ll be back!

Sweet potato fries were incredible as well! clams on a half shell were a great size too!!!Food was excellent and portion size were great and everything was so fresh! Great atmosphere as well. The food came out quick! We will definitely be back!
