Overall, the food was excellent and left a great impression. The octopus and potato was delicious but could benefit from a little more salt or acidity to bring the flavors together. The mezze bowls were a highlight, with the bread standing out as particularly delicious. The branzino was cooked well. The citrus salad was fresh and good.
Service was a bit rushed, likely because they noticed we had a squirmy toddler with us. While we didn't mind this, I could see how it might be a bit off-putting in a more relaxed adult-only setting. One small improvement could be a clearer explanation of the dishes when they arrive at the table.
We didn't have dessert this time, although we did look over the menu. I noticed the after-dinner drinks were not listed on the desserts menu.
All in all, it was a very good dining experience for Westchester, and we’re looking forward to returning.

Cannot say enough amazing things about this restaurant! The food is absolutely incredible - from the bread/dips/pizzas to fresh salads to Moroccan cigars to the best mouth-watering branzino and steak. Our friend who is a major steak lover said it was the best Tomahawk he’s ever eaten. Easily the top restaurant in Port Chester and overall southern Westchester. Top fresh quality ingredients with very rich flavors. The ambiance is amazing for a celebration with friends or romantic date. The owners clearly paid a lot of attention to detail bc the decor is really beautiful - lots of custom metalwork throughout while maintaining the historical beauty of the building. Finally I can’t forget to mention the staff, including one of the owners, Jennifer, are so welcoming, accommodating, friendly and attentive.

Had the pleasure of eating at 1881 tonite at 5pm, which is early for me, but the tale is that the food was great. Started w Mezze dish and this authentic bread from the oven which is soft and warm and delicious w the drizzled oil. Small dishes of Hummus, Tzidiki. and other fabulous flavors. Followed by Zucchini w warm salad. For main dishes Pizza Napolotena, which was warm and gooey and baked in the hearth w brick chicken, very flavorful
2 glasses of Nebbiolo to drink down the fabulous dinner and very courteous staff. Looking fwd to this Friday night w our friends to sit upstairs at the communal table. Nice job tonite

Great new spot in Portchester, the building is from 1881 thus the name. Beautiful space with tall ceilings, exposed brick and open kitchen with a huge wood fired copper covered oven. Has a Mediterranean flare, house made flatbreads and pizzas are delicious. Gambas en Aiello was really good and the humus was super light and flavorful.
Very friendly attentive service, really hard to find a complaint, except maybe it’s a little loud with all the hard surfaces. It’s a little pricey compared with other Portchester spots but well worth it to me.

Food is alright. I spoke to the main server he said the food is overly priced for the taste. The girl on the laptop is unprofessional and mumbles rude things about customers to other servers. The waitresses are the only nice people there. They make too many reservations at once so be prepared to be rushed out of your table.
