Although Saru is a cozy spot, it delivers big on quality. The dishes were delicious and thoughtfully presented.

Really disappointed with their how their quality has gone downhill. I ordered on a Saturday night for a large lomo Saltado and salchipapas. The lomo was bland, there were 3 large pieces of tomatoes just thrown in there, they used jasmine rice for some reason which was horrible, and the salchipapas was drowned in oil, just an absolute mushy oily mess. Earlier on they were amazing so its a shame. Once again a busy Saturday night but the quality should be consistent since prices are.

I visited this location mid-July 2025. The place was very welcoming with minimal décor. I ordered the half chicken with the Chaufa rice and the vegetables. The food was okay. However, when I warmed up my food later, I noticed a part of my chicken was not cooked all the way. It was pink. I threw it out immediately as I didn’t want to get sick from consuming the chicken. I give this restaurant 3 stars for how polite they were and how attentive they were. This is a tiny place I’m not sure if It’ll work for larger parties or you may just need it to yourself. The prices were very reasonable. The restaurant accepts both card and cash. I arrived by car so I’m unsure what public transportations options are near by. Being from NYC I’ve had Peruvian food before. I would not return to this place.

10 out of 10. Food is always good and the large plates are good portions for the price. I usually get cevivhe, lomo and chaufa rice.
Wheelchair accessibility: The bathrooms are not ADA but there is enough space to sit

I ordered the lomo saltado and this time they didn’t use the normal rice. It’s like a Indian rice it ruined my craving for lomo

Greta food! Prices are a little higher that what I usually spend, BUT the quality was miles ahead of the others! So to me the price is justified.

There are some good Peruvian Food spots in Port Chester. This little place might be the best one! It's a hidden gem on a busy street. You can't go wrong with any of the food options here. Their Chaufa though, is hands down, the best in this area!
Parking: Street parking available. There's an open lot a few stores down.
Kid-friendliness: Plenty of kid options on the menu.
