My husband ordered me soup while he was working on DoorDash on Thursday because I was sick and he got me chicken noodle and French onion soup. The French onion was good but the chicken noodle was literally just noodles in chicken broth, no chicken carrots or celery was in the soup. Last time we ordered from here we got just a side order of onion straws and mozzarella sticks. We paid $25+ ?! I want to say it was $28 for it. I was appalled. I love their onion straws that’s what keeps me coming back to be honest. Mozzarella sticks weren’t that good for the price.

This is a great classic diner that needs a few adjustments here and there but is still great overall. What I love about this place is that the interior remains basically untouched design wise since at least the early 90's. Too many places on the island have been renovated and don't retain that old school charm many of us love.

However, like many places in the area this one has been visited by the cheap LED light bulb gremlin. The color temperature is not correct (harsh blue/white light) and most the lamps are flickering. So for people who are sensitive to this sort of thing, it's torture to sit in this diner.

I used to go here with my family after church on Sunday's, I haven't been here in over a decade. Went here today with a bunch of friends to get lunch. The service was awesome! We were served right away, the waiter took our drink orders and was back to take our food orders twice because we were all still deciding what to get. Each of us ordered some kind of burger. The Double bacon Mac and cheese burger, the Mac and cheese burger, the blue cheese burger and others and I got the Big Breakfast burger. It was delicious! It came with fresh Cole slaw and a half a pickle and came with French fries and onion ring straws. The burgers were all huge! I could've believe the size of the burger! I will definitely be back again!

Food is ok, standard diner fare. Pricey, but in line with other diners in the area. Could use some upgrades in seats. Service is good.

Service is good, food portions are usually generous, and the atmosphere is clean enough. Pretty much what you would want going to a diner in the first place. No complaints from me.

UPDATE: after returned from the height of the pandemic, I've had some unlucky meals from time to time served to me.

One of my favorites was the French dip deluxe, but the au jus has gone from being a sweet French onion soup-like base to a really salty water. It reminds me of soy sauce mixed with water than anything like an au jus.

I've also gotten a few hamburgers that had the great charbroiled taste we all love because they were hot, dry, and hard as charcoal. I'm talking a borderline inedible that lettuce, tomato, coleslaw, ketchup, and onions can't mask.

I hope these few times were exceptions/accidents rather than what this place is slowly devolving into. With the price hikes
too this place has gone from one of my local staples to just...not anymore.

EDIT #2: got charged 8.99 for a side of French Fries. That speaks for itself.

Had a cheeseburger, nothing special, but did not like the abundant amount of onion rings in the burger. Seafood from a diner? I don’t know how to welcome that thought. Back in the 70’s & 80’s, diners were known for specialty food. Nowadays, hard to find a diner with just good food or “real” food for that matter.

Salad and sandwich was good. They were sold out of side vegetables so they substituted carrots with pineapple. Why these 2 foods were put together is a mystery. Tasted awful!
