Terrible service. Seated quickly, but then no wait service for our table. Three other groups seated and orders taken. We asked for a waiter/waitress. Still nothing. Left after 15 minutes of being completely ignored. We are new to the area and we were looking gforward to trying a new place near home. Oh well.
I have eaten here many times. I've never been disappointed! Food is delicious and service is friendly and attentive. A hidden GEM !!!
My husband and I have been here several times and have NEVER been disappointed. The food has been very consistent....always delicious! The pricing is so reasonable for a farm to table restaurant. The service has always been top notch as well. I have always been accommodated when asking for any changes to my meal. I hope this restaurant is around for a long time. We ❤ this place!!
The food was delicious, the staff so very friendly and excellent, and the atmosphere truly inviting and happy! What more could anyone ask for? Even the prices are reasonable. The Seasonal Pasta with artichokes, shrimp, sun-dried tomatoes, and pesto sauce was a huge portion and perfect (around $19, I think.) Fish and Chips were also good. The presentation of the steak entree was beautiful and tasted great, too. Fried cauliflower and shrimp appies were also wonderful. Kudos to the chef/owner and all of the staff! The servers really hustle and are so accommodating. So nice to see a family-run restaurant doing such a beautiful job!!!
We tried to enjoy an evening out at Chianti Cow for my son's birthday. What a disappointment! The brussel sprouts he ordered came out undercooked and inedible. My salad, after on hour of waiting, was poorly prepared and barely edible. The server finally admitted they "JUST" had a cook show up after over an hour that we sat there. We left with no dinner, and my son went home without any dinner on his birthday. It was a week night and too late to go elsewhere. Even the place we tried to go to enjoy a little dessert on the way home was locking up when we arrived. We started out trying to enjoy dinner at 6 pm and left there at almost 8 pm with bad food and no food.

The new decor is very inviting and makes the restaurant feel more spacious. Our food was fantastic - the macaroni and cheese from the regular menu, and the pork special that evening, which was very creative. The service was very prompt and friendly. We will definitely return.
The makeover of the this restaurant looks amazing and very welcoming Our server was sweet It’s such a shame however that after all the work going into revitalizing the property and new menu it failed to deliver My husband had the “ new” signature steak dish It was presented beautifully using fresh produce . My husband enjoyed it I feel that all the time and attention went into the new entree menu item My Cesar salad was dripping in dressing The lettuce was covered Which wasn’t appetizing and only ate a few bites Unfortunately my entree was inedible A plate of angel hair pasta covered in a can of tomatoes olives tossed in and VERY over cooked fish The majority of mussel shells were empty and the few that were not had a minuscule Mussel about 1/4 inch dried up and hard The Clams were hard and rubbery and monkfish so dry and hard It stuck in my throat I couldn’t eat the meal it was awful I was saddened to see this The Chianti Cow could be a go to destination .A gold mine If the effort is not put in to raise the standards they won’t do well Which is sad but fixable
Looks very nice..our server was great...food was very presentable and tasty. We were a party of four and I was disappointed that the special menu was not out...it was a Saturday night...we had to wait u til they came out with the special menu which took about 15 minutes!

A work colleague mentioned the "Chianti Cow" to us, and we decided to try it out. The official address shows that it is located in "Port Jervis", but apparently, Port Jervis covers quite a large area! In reality it is well outside of Port Jervis and in a very rural setting (but still only a few miles from Exit 2 of the I-84). I am not sure how the name came about because there is not much of Chianti or a cow, but that's beside the point. The menu is limited (no problem with that though), supplemented by quite a few daily specials. We opted for the grilled Brussels sprouts and the crostini topped with pomadora ragout, garlic, and capers. Both were absolutely delicious! I am so happy that Brussels sprouts have made a strong comeback - they were wrongly neglected for many years, and there is so much you can do with them (try it out her and you'll see what I mean). For the entree, we selected the (daily special) pasta (with eggplant) and the stuffed Brook trout. Personally, I love to see a trout with the head still on (which had been delicately covered up to avoid offense to those who prefer decapitated fish!), and this one did not disappoint. The stuffing (crab meat, shrimp) was superb, and the trout was cooked to perfection. It was accompanied by mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables (also delicious). By comparison, the pasta with eggplant seemed just a little too watery and could have been improved by adding some strong flavors. The rice pudding selected for dessert was nice (with a little cinnamon),and if mixed with the added whipped cream developed the right fluffy texture one would expect. As a coffee addict, I love to finish a meal with a fresh (and I mean" freshly brewed) coffee - which was how it was served! A pleasant surprise was a look at the wine list. A nice (if limited) selection of both whites and reds, all very reasonably priced (unlike other restaurants in the area which refuse to sell any bottle of wine for less than $40 even if you can buy it in a wine shop for $7.99! Since it was not a busy night, the service coped well (being friendly and helpful seemed to come naturally!). Overall, less than $100.00 for 2 starters, 2 entrees, 1 dessert, coffee, and a whole bottle of wine - this certainly alone may want you to come back! It's nice to see that a chef is making an effort to provide something slightly different from the rest of the crowd. Whilst the pasta was not entirely to our liking, everything else was excellent, adequately priced, and extremely tasty. Happy to come back.
