Loco | Best Mexican Restaurant in Port Washington

I have been here twice, both with very different experiences. My first occasion there was a Taco Tuesday special. They let us sit on the deck, we had a beautiful view and the service was very good. We walked away and told a bunch of friends they have to come.

We came back two months later to a completely different situation. There was no Taco Tuesday special, I was told it was no longer a thing. We did request to sit outside but were told that we had to sit on the main floor, not a huge deal but I was with a toddler that is loud and also not vaccinated.

On this second visit, despite being one of three seated tables, the service was very slow. Drinks took 10 minutes. Other guests came in after and were served food and drinks before we were. The food was still good. It is a bit on the pricier side but notion egregious.

I have a 5 star experience and a 3 star experience, so I gave a 4 and I hope my next experience is better.

Ordered tacos and some sides from there and literally could not be more pleased. Everything was AMAZING. Zero complaints. I've been missing non "tex-mex" tacos since moving from Queens to Long Island and this is THE place.

Vegetarian options: 3 really good vegetarian options for tacos, all sides were vegetarian as well

Excellent! We were curious of the Mexican/Indian menus here. We were not disappointed. First started with the salsa and chips. Salsa is delicious with a smokey flavor. My husband had the chicken tikka enchilada and I had the steak iron plate with tortillas. Dessert was an elegant tres leches cake. All enjoyed with a lovely Malbec wine. Absolutely delicious. Wait staff (Daniel) and the rest were so nice, pleasant and professional. We had an enjoyable Saturday date night. Enjoy the pictures and try them out!

Got my entire order wrong. Clearly reading or having an education isn't their forte. Food is terrible. Wouldn't give this food to my dog.

The Indian Mexican mashup from Loco is the best thing I have tried in a long time!! Chicken curry tacos FTW!!?

Reserved a table outside two hours before we arrived. Got there and they said not serving outside and with an unpleasant attitude. Why could they call and tell us. So we had no possibility of reserving elsewhere.

Most of these reviews are fake and asked for by the owners of Diwan. I have eaten the overpriced "Mexican food" above Diwan and aside from being a complete ripoff, it's not at all authentic. Also, no one in Port Washington actually eats at this place. Diwan is fine - but the owners need to stop trying to make the upstairs restaurant area be something other than an extension of the Indian food.

Went to try this most talked about Mexican restaurant in portwashington called Loco.TheDishes we ordered was just great.The taste and presentation was wonderful. I ordered the lamb curryEnchiladas and was blown away with the taste. The chef did a fantastic job by infusing a Mexican dish with an Indian touch... check this place out ..you won't be disappointed...

Wonderful experience at LOCO. Extensive menu, with something for everyone to try. Food was delicious, packed with great flavors and generous spice, something only talented chefs are good at. This is not your average to go dine in spot. Along with the Mexican menu, is an addon Indo-Mexican fusion with an Indian touch, that got my attention. Very spacious, clean, and friendly staff. Perfect for families. Will visit soon on my next visit to Port.

Best tasting Mexican food I've ever had. The Indian Mexican mix dishes are perfect, with tons of flavor. Friendly staff per usual.
