Best sushi in Port. The restaurant is under new ownership and the sushi is as fresh and delicious as when Mr and Mrs Yamaguchi were the owners.

Yamaguchi kept its name but is under new ownership. So far, although the menu has changed the quality is still very good and the prices remain reasonable. My group and I look forward to returning.

The fish was very fresh. I ordered the sushi sashimi and it was mostly salmon. I did tell the waitress no tuna but I expected a larger variety of fish. We'll give them another try.

For some reason, the owner here (an Asian woman with frowning face and limited English) consistently treats people picking up orders in a rude, dismissive way. I noticed that when I was there, I was the only actual customer picking up, while four others waiting with me were all delivery app drivers. This woman clearly looks down on delivery drivers and treats them with condescension. On top of that, this place repeatedly marks orders as “ready” when they are not. This restaurant marks the order is ready when any part of the order is ready--for me it was cabbage salad for sushi platter. I had to wait for 25 mins standing in a busy entrance area with other people and it was extremely frustrating. Port Washington has plenty of other Japanese restaurants, and I will definitely not be coming back or orderint from here again.

I was initially a bit worried that the change would affect the quality of the preparation/food, but thankfully, this is not the case. It is still top-notch and continues to be my #1 go-to when I want high quality sushi/sashimi. Thank you! Our tummies appreciate you.

The sushi is melt-in-your-mouth fresh with the toro sushi being creamy and buttery. Their uni is also creamy and pleasant and without any bitter taste. I would recommend this place to anyone.
