Service was good, even though the restaurant was very busy. The chipotle jalapeño chicken wrap was great, just the right amount of spicy for me. They don't have many desserts choices: chocolate ice cream, rice pudding, and apple pie was all that was available when we were there. I guess desserts are not a focus.
Great place with amazing food and pretty good service. Nearby the Hilton double tree hotel which is also a great place
Alex’s Restaurant Diner, right on the cusp of Market and Main, is in a great location with a solid reputation. The water and seltzer are definitely a highlight—always fresh, never flat.
The owner is a very nice man who actually knows my order by heart. I’m sure he’ll remember yours too, which says a lot about how much he cares. I respect the business and the hard work that goes into keeping it running.
Most of the workers are okay, but a few might need an attitude adjustment—or maybe even a different job. Good thing I’m not the boss! Still, I hope they find their groove, because I want to see this place thrive.
It’s not always perfect (like when they mess up something as simple as sausage egg and cheese on a hard roll with salt and pepper), but hey—that’s just my opinion. To each their own. Come check it out and see for yourself. You might just like it!
Cheerful and service is awesome in the Mornings
Great service and the food was on point. A lot of gluten free choices on the menu.
Came from Long Island with my girlfriend to get her animals to a vet, and I was starving for breakfast, amazing atmosphere & food, friendly service, and Frank Sinatra blasting away, loved it.
Food was delicious and worth the reasonable price they charge, and the ice coffee was good. A New Yorker authentically saying “gimme a bagineggincheeze” with butt in his hand really made the whole experience 5 star worthy
Our go to for breakfast, lots of gluten free options. Good food, great service, and so delicious.
Solid, friendly diner! When is the last time you saw organic ketchup at a diner?
Well done to them!

Usually love the place but this is solely based on fried food. The fried chicken sandwich takes like fish. Must use same oil. No good....

When in Poughkeepsie. Dine at Alex’s. I felt right at home. When I had an option where to sit. I got the veggie omelette that afternoon. The service and food truly did justice! Regardless what you get. You’ll always leave with a smile when you dine at Alex’s!

My experience today was horrible!!!!! We made a reservation for 11:00, we arrived on time and was seated by a young man. Our waitress made the experience horrible!!! She was flustered, not friendly, and rushed us during 3 exchanges that did not include taking our food order. It took almost 40 minutes to get drinks, and 2 tables of guests who arrived after us were served before our order was even taken. One hour later we asked about our food and questioned why we had not been served and were told that it had nothing to do with when you are seated it depended on the complexity of our food. Our order included 5 hotcakes with sausage or bacon and an omelette no brainer!! The male who seated us and whom I assumed was the manager by this time came over and explained that our order had been placed at 11:55. THAT was the problem!!!!!!! We were being told that at that point our food would be out in 20 minutes. We made the decision to leave and see if another establishment wanted our business! We will never go to that restaurant again and caution anyone else to not sit and be patient for an hour like we did. Try another restaurant

Always excellent service and yummy food!
I have no idea how they make one of the Most Scrumptious Hamburgers ever, but they surely do!!!
Be sure to save room for dessert also. Their Rice Pudding with Cinnamon and Whipped Cream is over-the-top delicious!!
Wheelchair accessibility: It's a little difficult to maneuver in the front doors with a wheelchair or walker, but if you ask someone from the staff (or even anyone just going in or out), they're always willing to add an extra hand to get both sets of doors open and provide easy passage. Once in the restaurant, there is ample room to move about with either the wheelchair or walker, and the staff quickly move chairs out of the way at one's table to fit everyone in well.
