The clothing & home goods selection is so nice, I wish I'd needed more than just socks today! With a business model geared toward sustainability, I didn't want to shop just for its own sake, but if I ever need or want dress shirts, sweaters, or jackets in the future, I'll get back here. Plenty of women's clothing also. Canvas & Clothier is a great alternative to Macy's.

Cloth and Clothier in Poughkeepsie, NY, is a gem of a store that deserves all the praise it can get. The combination of an amazing store and impeccable service makes it a standout in the area. What truly sets Cloth and Clothier apart is its dedication to offering American-made, high-quality products—a breath of fresh air in an industry saturated with mass-produced items.

For those who appreciate craftsmanship and value authenticity, Cloth and Clothier is a haven. The carefully curated selection reflects a commitment to excellence that is sorely needed in the community. While the store may not cater to every taste or budget, that's perfectly fine—it adheres to the adage that you can't be everything to everybody.

If you're someone who understands the value of investing in artisanal goods and appreciates the culture surrounding American craftsmanship, this store is tailor-made for you. It's a rare find in the area, offering a highly unique experience that's unmatched elsewhere.

It's important to note that Cloth and Clothier isn't for everyone, and that's okay. Just like how you wouldn't critique a fine wine if you only drink beer, it's unfair to judge this establishment if it doesn't align with your preferences or budget. There are plenty of other options in the area for those seeking more affordable choices.

In essence, Cloth and Clothier is like the Mercedes of clothing stores in Poughkeepsie—top-tier quality and craftsmanship that may not be within everyone's reach, but for those who understand its value, it's worth every penny. So, if you're ready to elevate your wardrobe with pieces that exude quality and character, look no further than Cloth and Clothier.

I stopped in for a cup of coffee and that was how I learned about the store and concept. My family has lived in the City of Poughkeepsie for almost 10 years and I hadn’t known this was here, so I was very curious to look around. The space is really well-designed and nice to look at, and I thought it was cool that the store is dedicated to sustainable clothing. That said, my jaw literally dropped when I saw the price tags. Even basic cotton t-shirts were 80-100 dollars. I’m honestly wondering who goes here and buys these clothes—I get that they are made in the U.S. and they seemed high-quality, but to me that still doesn’t justify insane prices. I’m not a fan of fast fashion in any way but like many others I end up buying it when I need clothes because it is what I can afford. I’m all for sustainable clothing—and part of being sustainable is being affordable and accessible in my opinion. I feel like this place is completely out of touch with the community and is frankly an example of gentrification at its worst and most toxic. I would much rather spend my money and spend time at a small business that serves the needs of the community it is located in and is accessible to people.

This space epitomizes Women Empowered. A hidden gem in quaint settings located in the hub of downtown Poughkeepsie. Tucked between the Main Street corridor and Mill Street along Garden Street in close proximity to the transport center and Grand Hotel. Offers quality local and domestic wares/ goods featuring organic, unique personal wares, natural oils, lotions, scented candles, a myriad of cutlery items, décor, rugs, furniture. Additionally, there are a number of creative and innovative decorative pin ideas that will spice up your environment and personal space in a holistic way. Great color co-ordination with an emphasis on pastel, subtle hues to suit all occasions.
An interesting dialog with Owner Jillian spoke of the dream and concept of Utility Canvas & Hudson Clothier to realize the conception of ideas. Professional, warm welcome and service ensure visitors experience a nurturing and exciting event from the moment one enters the doors of the establishment. Coffee shop on site (Great coffee) with small varieties of pastries and selected soup offering. Small seating area adds to the convenience for customers. U.S made goods for men, women, home, office décor.

Surprise! This place also has a sweet little coffee nook right in front. We spent hours driving around in the snow looking for an open cafe- What a great surprise finding this gem!☕️ Our gentleman host was the epitome of gracious hospitality and generous human kindness. Really made us feel welcome & right at home. Couldn’t have been more delightful!

Beautiful very upscale...
However, this stores prices are the reason folks go to Macy's, and Kohl's, etc....
In this time in history, where people are struggling to pay for everything, a price tag of over 300.00$ for men's pants is an insult.
70.00$ for a reusable grocery bag....
Yes the items are so well mad, still this is the reason we will always need China...
Americans can't figure out a way to make excellent quality affordable clothes and goods.?.It's a shame

Yesterday was our first time we went to this magnificent restaurant. But It is obviously not the last time. We had great time with the generous service, with the superb dishes and booze and with the comfortable payment. We will definitely come back soon.
