My husband and I were in town for a couple days and had a real hankering for Italian food. We recently visited Italy and were pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of this restaurant. We live in San Diego and were traveling quite a distance. Hands down the veal Parmesan and bruschetta were the best we have had since we left Italy. You must patron this restaurant, you’re missing out if not. Quaint, delicious and tasty!

Our experience at Capperi was one of the most delightful and delicious dining experiences ever. We needed a late lunch so our options in that area were limited. There were only a few reviews for this restaurant but they were all good ones so we tried it. We were the only customers and Carlos, our chef/waiter/proprietor had a Spanish accent, so I was a little anxious. We ordered the bruschetta and Caesar salad for appetizers and both were very good. I ordered the putenesca and my husband, the spaghetti and meatballs! They both were most excellent. We fell in love with Carlos. He is such a hard worker. He is not yet licensed to serve wine but I believe you can bring your own. Also, there are options for parking other than on the street. Just call Carlos about that and to make a reservation for dinner. You won’t be sorry!
