Tried here yesterday for the first time. As you guys have had great reviews. I figured let's give it a shot. Had a craving for oxtails ordered an order of oxtails with rice and peas have great flavor but lacked oxtails. I had a plate full of rice and peas and 2 pieces of oxtail very disappointing. And the other meals that I had ordered were of the same issue

I’ve been here a total of three times and the first two times where great the food was amazing (oxtails curry chicken) Both dishes were well seasoned full of flavor just chef’s kiss 😋. But yesterday the oxtails were tough and full of fat. So unfortunate especially after waiting for the restaurant to open back up from what I’m guessing was vacation. I don’t want to give up on this place the food is too good 🥺 Please let the oxtails cook down more 🙏🏾. Looking forward to trying again.

Hands down was shocked at how good everything was. You can tell they take pride in what they do. Me and my gf order the jerk chicken and chicken wraps and let me tell ya that plate didnt lasts longer then 5 mins 😭😭😭

Pleasantly surprised!! There are so many Jamaican restaurants to choose from in Poughkeepsie that serve the same menu & never have what you want to order etc. I was so happy when I got my meal bc it was freshly cooked right out of the pan. The portion was enough for 2 people and to top it off they have home made ice cream 🤤 The owner Simone introduced herself & was so polite & courteous. She went out of her way to make sure that my order was exactly how I wanted. Wish I could give it 10 🌟. YES SIMONE!! KEEP DOING YOUR THING 🙌🏽 💪🏽

Went there and it was closed completely - front door locked - doesn’t look like it will be opening again anytime soon. They need to update their Google listing….DONT GO BECAUSE THEY ARE CLOSED

My husband & I went to Hellshire for lunch. He had the curry goat and I had the oxtails. Both of us added rice & beans and cabbage. OMG!!! The goat and oxtails were so tender! Both dishes were were very flavorful! The staff was also very nice and professional. We will definitely go back again!
My good friend let me sample all of her homemade ice creams and every flavor was absolutely amazing. Nothing beats the refreshing flavor of homemade ice cream on hot summers day. I definitely will be going back this summer to get my share 😋

The owners are very kind and patient . My fiancé loves the Jamaican food ! Me and my son love all the different flavors of ice cream you can get! The place is always clean ! I love going here !
Parking: There’s limited space but luckily there always seems to be a spot there !
Kid-friendliness: My kid loves coming here ! They even do samples which is great when you have a picky kid !
