I was there with two friends from Kentucky that used to
live here. They wanted Italian because Kentucky doesn't have good Italian food. Waiter was exceptionally nice had good conversation even with the waiter. Food was excellent as usual
The Milanese never disappoints! Everything is fresh and plentiful! Since I am Italian I prefer my family’s recipes, but I always feel like I’m eating I’m eating at home when I have dinner at The Milanese!
First, I have to say the staff was nice and had to hustle, but they did it with a smile. The food was not the greatest. My son's family goes there every year for Easter. Year one, I don't remember what I ordered, but the food was excellent. Last year, I ordered the steak, and it was dry, but I ate most of it. This year, I ordered the stuffed fish. It was horrible. Way to much lemon and salt. I told the young man waiting on us. But evidently, they didn't care. The waiter just said he told them, and he was sorry. That speaks volumes.
We recently held a funeral reception for my father at Milanese, and I cannot express enough gratitude for the kindness, professionalism, and outstanding service we received. From the very beginning, Aldo, the owner, was incredibly accommodating, fair, and genuinely caring. He made a stressful time so much easier, ensuring that we had one less thing to worry about. His flexibility and willingness to work with us put us at ease, and we knew we could trust him to create a seamless event.
Milanese opened the restaurant just for our gathering of 50 guests, adjusting to our needs even when our plans shifted. Our services ended earlier than expected, and we arrived an hour ahead of schedule, but Aldo and his team welcomed us warmly and had everything prepared without hesitation. The staff was attentive, respectful, and made sure every guest had everything they needed.
The food was simply incredible. Everyone raved about it, especially the pasta primavera, and many mentioned they would happily return under happier circumstances. The entire experience was smooth, stress-free, and truly comforting during a difficult time.
I only wish I lived closer so I could dine at Milanese more often! I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion. Thank you, Aldo and the Milanese team, for everything!
Wow is all I can say. Go get some great talian food here and you will thank me. It is off the hook amazing!!!!
My husband and I went here on 2/13. We come here about once a year and every time we do we say we need to come back more! Calamari was amazing and chicken parm was fantastic. Old school great tasting family place. Highly recommend
I've been here twice and the food on the menu sounds terrific. Unfortunately, I think the food is tasteless. Service is good, and the atmosphere is nice but it doesn't even compare with the local pizzeria. I'm sorry to say.
My family’s favorite place for Italian food! We always love going here for dinner. My son has loved their meatballs and minestrone soup since he was a baby! The staff is great! Lester, Gianna, Marina, Amelio, Victor, etc…all give us great service! When Santino is there he will come give us an amazing magic show at the table! Food is homemade and fresh and DELICIOUS!! Make sure you finish your meal with a millionaires Cappucino made by Aldo! 🤌🏼
At one time I lived in Poughkeepsie and often frequented the Milanese. The food was outstanding but the accommodations were at the time subpar. Close together seating where neighboring conversations were easily heard. Loud talking diners nearby were often obstusive. I recall a couple were about to be seated when the gentleman curtly told the waitress "If I wanted to sit with those folks I would have come in with them."
Years later still the case. We were seated very close to a table of 5. They were indeed loud talkers and we were uncomfortable until they left about a half hour later.
I got the stuffed shrimp
Delicious! But my side of pasta didn't come until 10 minutes into the meal. That presented another problem. There was one server for the whole dining room. The poor guy was frantically running to and fro like a crazy man. We felt sorry for him
My companion got the lasagne dinner and felt it was very tasty though substantially light on meat.
Generally my return to the Milanese was a disappointment. Uneven food quality and below average seating and poor service.
I doubt I'll be back.

Authentic Italian restaurant that serves great starters, pasta and second meals. The calamari and Caprese salad were delicious appetizers served in big portions. The lasagna and the spaghetti meatballs were excellent main meals. The decor is dated but that only serves to emphasize how good the food is.

If you're familiar with places like Villa Masconi in Greenwich Village or Mama Lombardi's on Long Island, you'll love this. Very authentic Italian diaspora vibe. Stuffed sole was fabulous. Do it!
