Man, I loved Moonburger when it opened. It was totally worth the lines, and the employees were cool. But sadly this business decided to commit suicide.
Whatever the staff are being asked to do, they canāt handle it. I just sat in the drive through line for more than 20 minutes with only one car in front of me waiting at the window. When that person finally got their order and I pulled up, the employee gestured to a bag by the cash register asking āthis is hers, right?ā I asked if she meant the one that had been sitting there for 20 minutes and she said it hadnāt (it hadāit was in my line of sight the whole time). When I opened the bag and found the food cold, the employee asked in exasperation āwell do you want us to redo it??ā I gave up as this would have taken another half hour that I didnāt have.
Apparently they started taking unlimited DoorDash orders, which has made the in-person drive-through basically unusable.
Itās such a shame to see this promising place make one poor business decision after anotherāyouāll recall how they alienated their original customer base by suddenly adding meat to the menu. I was willing to keep going there, but this $14 lesson will sadly be my last.

This was my first time to moon burger. I was pleasantly surprised, the food was incredible, the staff was engaged and a pleasure to deal with. The restaurant was surprisingly fast and very clean ...Definitely on the top of my list of food destinations. My only regret is that you can't give 10 stars.

Iāve enjoyed eating at Moonburger at the Kingston location; so I wanted to try to the Poughkeepsie location. The food at the Poughkeepsie location was inedible. I had to throw away my food.

We stopped by for a quick bite before heading back to our destination and ordered the classic burger combo. It was delicious! The service was excellent, and one of the staff even offered us his personal hot sauce.
I order a vegan burger and it was ok. There are healthier options than this. The fries and the bun were really good.

I absolutely love Moonburgers, don't get me wrong, and was excited when one came to Poughkeepsie, as I have definitely made the trek to Kingston on multiple occasions because they're soooo worth the drive, but I have to say I've been disappointed every time I've been to Poughkeepsie. (4x since opening?) It always takes exceptionally long for the order to be made, which would be fine if they came out hot and fresh, but they don't. I'm not even sure if they use the same buns either - overall, I'd say they're mediocre at best - still better than any other fast food burgers by far, I'm sure, which I won't even eat, but sooo subpar compared to Kingston or New Paltz. A friend from Westchester who recently tried Kingston asked if we could go to the one in Poughkeepsie since he'll be visiting this week and I told him we shouldn't, as there was a good chance he'd be disappointed just like I always am. I wish there was better quality control and consistency throughout the branches, but sadly, Poughkeepsie just doesn't cut it.
