This place has gotten worse over the years. The prices don't ever make sense. Different servers charge different prices. Today, I was charged $30 for two plates, they usually charge 25 for the same plates. I later noticed they actually charged $34 on my card. The server was mad that I didn't want to buy a drink. Not going back to this place.

New Nelly’s is my go-to spot when I’m in a bind. Great food quality all the time. If I ever have had an issue, I’ve addressed it and management was helpful and chill about it. The hostess is very cool and a great conversationalist.

Would not feed that food to my worst enemy. Had a rat run Accross my feet when I went to use bathroom. The food is salty and greasy. Absolutely disgusting

Yo, it ain’t bad! if you want fast Dominican food, this spot holds it down. Food’s got flavor, but everything’s a little too salty, like someone’s mad in the kitchen.

My main issue? They pile on the rice like it’s a rice donation drive, but the meat? Forget it. Tiny portions—especially with oxtail or goat. You end up digging through gravy and bones like you’re on a treasure hunt.

And the prices? Yeah, I get it!! it’s probably ’cause the college is right there. But charging like you’re dining at a luxury spot for a takeout plate? Nah.

Don’t hit me with all that rice like I came here for a starch coma.

Wow. I'm not sure what that was that I just ate but not Dominican food. I am spoiled and live in Brooklyn, so this was disappointing. I paid $15 for mushy and dry goat that was cut into huge hunks. Taste was just ok. Overall, I was left disappointed. I like to support small restaurants, but only with merit. What bothered me most was that when I ordered, she asked,'Do you want beans?' I replied 'of course' because any self-respecting Latin restaurant INCLUDES beans as well as the rice and main item. In NYC, they also include a couple of slices of fried plantain. Not only did I end up paying 1$ more for the beans without being warned of the extra cost, but the plantains were $5 on the menu. I would have received an amazing rice goat & plantains for $12.99 max in the big expensive city, and it would include a drink. At some point, it's not really worth stating open.
